Update and a card at last....

Hi all, life has once again taken over... my grandson who is 5 weeks old today was admitted to hospital Wednesday evening, he has been projectile vomiting and is not gaining weight, he has in fact only put on 1.5lb since he was born. His grandad (on his dad's side) had the same problem as a baby and needed an operation to right it, it is hereditary so is possible this is what my grandson has.... so Wednesday night they had a Surgical Team and a bed on standby in London, but typically, after being put on a drip stopped being so sick, so was sent home yesterday evening with medicine and an ultrasound appointment for 2 weeks time. Unfortunately overnight he started being sick again and out of 5 feeds, he projectile vomited 3 times and in the end was continually crying as he was so hungry, my poor daughter has not slept in days. Today he went back to hospital and as I type he should be having his ultrasound scan, depending on what they find depends on what happens next, she is moving from hospital to hospital at the moment as the scan as it a different hospital to where he was admitted. My other grandson who is 17 months old thinks he lives here at the moment, and he is also not very well (those awful colds going around at the moment) and really needs mummy and daddy at a time like this, but he is enjoying playing with my 6 and 8 year old, and daughter is happy he is worn out when he goes home... so fingers crossed that if there is anything wrong they will see it on the scan, if not, that he will stop being sick and start gaining weight....

Finally got around to making a card today, but only a simple one as I left my 16 year old in charge of my grandson whilst I did it... Recipe:- Patterned Paper - Stampin' Up! To The Nines Speciality PP. Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Sage Shadow, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White. Stamp Set:- Season of Joy, Circle of Friendship, Trendy Trees. Punches:- Stampin' Up! Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" circle, 1" circle, Eyelet Border. Misc:- Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds, Glue Pen.
And here is what it looks like opened....
Hope you have a great evening girls... xx

On a Roll Today.....

Well I have made another card, the creativity is flowing today. My 8 year old is going to a birthday party tomorrow so thought I had better make a card, I am trying to be more organised so dont want to make a last minute one at the last minute. It is for a little girl and I thought I would take part in another challenge so would kill two birds with one stone and combine the card and challenge. Well I cheated slightly as I already had the image coloured in, but thought it was quite an appropriate image, it is a Sugar Nellie Stamp and I think they are so cute. I used one of these designs on my daughters card back in August. Anyway, here is what you have been waiting for...

I used Basic Grey Papers and Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Rose Red Stampin Up Cardstock, along with the SU punches. I also used Stampin Up Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Tempting Turquoise Brad. The Stamp Set I used for the sentiment is again SU Circle of Friendship. I used a strip Cuttlebug Folder for the embossing on the left hand side of the card and sanded it slightly to bring out the white core and make it stand out more, and I lightly inked the edges of the paper in white. The border edge punch is Martha Stewart and flowers and gems are from my stash. And true to form, I have also decorated the inside to match...

Luckily my 8 year old is quite a neat writer so there should be enough room on the white cardstock to write his message. By the way, the Challenge I made this card for is the Papertake Weekly Challenge. I hope my card meets the criteria as I made it on a rectangle card and not a square one, but one of their DT made a cover for a rectangle notepad, so I guess it will be okay.

Have a great weekend everyone xx

I actually got round to making some cards....

And they are all made from Stampin' Up! Unfortunately not the 20 I had planned but I have made 3, I was going to make 20 3 x 3 cards, but I decided against it and I have 24 card blanks ready and waiting to be made into cards and they are a variety of sizes, just to make things a little bit different. I guess they take me longer as I like to decorate the inside too... I have photographed the insides so will show you them too...

For these cards I used Old Olive, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, I used the Stampin' Up! Cardstock Flowers on the front and the sentiment was from the Thank You Kindly Set, the inside Stamp Sets were Season Of Joy for the Green Swirl, I stamped the flower first using A Beautiful Thing Stamp Set in So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie, I then masked the flower and stamped the swirl over the top.... I think it looks quite attractive.. oh yes, the size is 4" x 4". I used the swirls cuttlebug folder and the spots cuttlebug folder to give it some dimension and the Patterned Paper is Haiku.
Next up is another 4" x 4" card...

I am using the same Patterned Paper and Cardstock throughout these cards, so again, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron Cardstock and Haiku Patterned Paper. Pumpkin Pie ribbon on the front of the card and again I used the Cardstock Flowers. The brads are Old Olive and the sentiment is from the Stamp Set Circle of Friendship, you get 8 sentiments in this set and they punch out nicely using the Stampin' Up! punches. Inside I used the same colour cardstock but used the Scallop Edge Punch on the Patterned Paper. All supplies are Stampin' Up!.

This time the card is an A6 size, and again I used the same colour cardstock, Old Olive, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie. The ribbon on the front of the card is Old Olive, and the Image comes from the Garden Whimsey Stamp Set, I coloured the stamp in with the Stampin' Markers and stamped it that way, so I could use 2 colours. The "Thank You" sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings Stamp Set. On the inside I used the Scallop Edge Punch on the edge of the So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and I used the Cardstock Flowers... the Patterned Paper is Haiku. Hope to make some more cards in these colours tomorrow, bit of a challenge getting them all different but using the same colours, so should be fun.
And apart from making cards I have no other news to share... aaaah, but a letter was sent home via my son today to say this Academic Year he has already got 30 merits, so very proud of him as it is his first year at Secondary School.
Dont forget to take part in my Blog Candy Challenge, you have until Saturday to submit a card and you can find out more here.
Dinner is now ready, so off to have that.... have a great evening all xx
