My Little Grandson.....

has been staying with me... he will be 2 tomorrow. My youngest grandson has been in the Royal Free Hospital in Whitechapel for the last 2 days with his mum and dad and I have been looking after his brother... my youngest is 7, so haven't had a toddler for a few years now, but we all loved having him to stay and I think he had a great time. My greatest fear was that he would cry for his mum and dad and that he wouldn't understand me telling him when they would be back, but he didn't thank goodness.... at least tomorrow I will be able to sleep until the alarm goes off... ha ha

Anyway I have a card to show you, although I haven't been crafting for 4 days now, hopefully will be back to normal tomorrow, well I will need to be as I need to make my Grandson's birthday card....

This was a card I made for the Church order, I have now taken over the making and sending out of cards to everyone in our church, so hopefully if I can kick myself up the butt I will be making even more cards in the future. Unfortunately things keep happening to stop me..

I used Stampin Up's Sweet Pea Mat Stack for this card and a computer generated sentiment. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink Taffetta and the flowers were also punched out of the Mat Stack. The cardstock is Barely Banana. A very simple and easy to make card using this gorgeous paper.

The inside I made to match, again using the mat stack and barely banana cardstock.

Hope you like it, will be back tomorrow with another one... have a great day all xx

Well What Do You Know....?

Yay, 2 days running, getting back into the swing of things now... lol

Unfortunately no Papertrey Ink cards as I was so busy yesterday and haven't had time today, but my intention is to make a couple this afternoon.... cannot believe I am so busy after the children have gone back to school... lol

Anyway, todays card is again using the Patterned Paper from the Sweet Pea Paper Stack and Barely Banana Cardstock, the ribbon is Kraft Taffeta, all from Stampin' Up! The little butterfly is from my Papertrey Ink order, coloured to match the paper and cut out using the Papertrey Ink Die.... sentiment is computer generated... how easy is this card to make using this gorgeous patterned paper.

The inside was decorated to match, again using the Sweet Pea Paper Stack and Barely Banana Cardstock. I again used the PTI stamp and punch for the butterfly and the edging is a Martha Stewart Punch.

Thanks for looking, have a great day. xx

Wow how did I make so many cards in one day...

I have finally managed to finish all my cards for my church order this month... not quite sure how but I think it is because I intend to have a big crafty clear out next week and didn't want to have to have an order hanging over my head whilst doing it.... I have had a delivery of Papertrey Ink stash this week and it is sitting in a box waiting for a home, so thought if I could sell some stash I no longer use this would give me room for my new stash and also fund some more stash.... lol

The sentiment on this card is computer generated, the shapes have been cut out using Nesties and the punch is from Martha Stewart. The Ribbon is Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink Taffetta and the cardstock is Chocolate Chip and Real Red and the corners have been punched out using the Photo Corners SU Punch....

And here is the inside, again Chocolate Chip Cardstock and the pink dots have been punched using the smallest Stampin' Up! circle punch using Pretty in Pink Cardstock and sticking them to the chocolate chip.... and that is about it.... off to Ally Pally in a minute so I know I am going to have a good day. Hope yours is super duper too... take care xx

This Month's Card Class.....

Okay, well I have lots to do this week and no time to do it as my Grandson has an appointment at the Royal London Hospital tomorrow and I am looking after my 22 month old Grandson, just not really feeling in a crafty mood at the moment anyway..... pah!!!! Think I am still recovering from having 17 people here Easter Sunday for roast dinner and definitely an overload of chocolate too, so diet starts again today!!! lol

So the above photo was my Card Workshop I did this month, I always find it really hard to judge how long it will take to make a card and I guess we had a bit too much to make this month, but everyone managed to stamp their images and make at least 2 of their cards and I showed them how to make the flowers on their notebooks...

How gorgeous are these colours. This month I decided I would not make everything matching, but use the same stamp set Greenhouse Garden for all of them but use different colourways so that they could see how different each card looked. For the notebook cover I used Perfect Plum Patterned Paper, Perfect Plum and Pale Plum Cardstock and Mellow Moss for the little leaves and the Taffetta Ribbon is also Mellow Moss....

This card is a flowerpot card and the flowers pull up and are attached to some card that you can write your message on. For this card I used Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock, there is also some Old Olive for the leaves and for the inside bit which you cannot see. The ribbon is Night of Navy and the inks are So Saffron, Real Red and Night of Navy.... the insides of the flowers are Chocolate Chip. I also used Jackpot Patterned Paper.

This card uses Pretty In Pink, Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery Cardstock. The Patterned Paper is Tea Party and the Grosgrain Ribbon is Certainly Celery too....

This time I used Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow and Whisper White Cardstock. The Patterned Paper is To The Nines, this was probably the easiest card of them all to make. All stash used to make all these cards comes from Stampin' Up! If you would like to order anything, please contact me on LindaLloyd@gmx.net or if you would like a new Stampin' Up! mini catalogue, please contact me at the above email addy and I will get one out to you ASAP.
If you like Magnolia, Sugar Nellie or KatzelKraft stamps you will find some second hand ones for sale here and postage is free too.... bonus!!
Have a great afternoon, take care.. xx

Tackle It Tuesday Colour Challenge #3

Right, it is Tuesday fortnight and time to draw my Colour Challenge #2.....

And this is you Donna..... thank you very much for taking part in my Challenge, I will be putting a little bag of goodies together for you. Please could you contact me at LindaLloyd@gmx.net with your address please and it will be winging its way to you shortly...

On the this fortnight's Colour Challenge, have picked the following colours because I thought they went well together, haven't quite managed to get the colours looking right, but the names are underneath so that should help a bit.... and here they are....

If you dont have the Stampin' Up! Colours just pick something similar, you will find that the Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow are slightly darker than shown (not sure what happened to the colours after I had done them)..... anyway, here is my attempt for this fortnight...

Have not used all SU stash, I used a couple of Martha Stewart Punches and a Verve Sentiment Stamp.... the other stash is Rose Red, Sage Shadow, Basic Black and Pretty in Pink Cardstock, To The Nines Speciality Paper, Pretty in Pink Taffetta Ribbon and Rose Red and Pretty in Pink Brads....

and here is the inside of the card...... again Pretty in Pink and Rose Red Cardstock along with Basic Black, and the To The Nines Speciality Paper.... the white shape is a Nestabilities Label Die.
I would love to see you take part in my challenge this fortnight, I love some inspiration for my cards and there will again be a little goody bag for the winner who will be picked out randomly. Unfortunately I cannot ship the prize to anyone outside of UK or Europe, but if you live elsewhere, please still post your cards on here as we would all love to see them, and a challenge is a challenge with or without a prize....
Dont forget to check back tomorrow for my Why Not Make It Wednesday Tutorial.... just need to get it edited now.....
Have a good evening all, I am going to post this quickly before I lose it again, had typed it up earlier, lost my internet connection and lost the post....

Two in One Day.... am I sick?

So 2 posts in one day, but there is a reason for that. I have made this card using a Challenge Sketch which finishes tomorrow, you can find it here, so needed to get it posted before then, otherwise I would have made you wait until tomorrow for it.

I wasn't sure at first that I liked this Pink Flamingo Patterned Paper, but I bought it anyway and absolutely love it.... it is truly gorgeous. I also have the Kaleidoscope Patterned Paper and not sure about that either, guess I just need to get it out of the package... watch this space.
So card is made using Pink Flamingo patterned Paper, Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock. The sentiment is computer generated (had a request for New Year cards, but not just your run of the mill Happy New Year stuff, hope this is the kind sentiment that was wanted). The little image is from the Saleabration Set, Good Neighbours. And finished off with Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and a few gems from my stash... Come on Stampin' Up!, give us a few gems in our mini catalogue when it comes out.
Have a great day xx

Took A Bit of A Detour......

Wedding card made with Stampin Up Whisper White cardstock and a Martha Stewart punch - thumbnail I took a bit of a detour today, having a bit of a personal dilemma and didn't really feel creative at all... I know I am not going to get the 12 cards finished and daughter asked me for a Wedding Card, so thought I would turn my attention to that, the happy couple who the card is for actually got married last week at Gretna Green, so I didn't really want to put Wedding Day on the card. I started off with something totally different inspired by someones blog, but actually hated the card and started all over again. The finished product is below, I ended up very pleased with the way it turned out, so am feeling a bit more positive this afternoon.

Wedding card made with Stampin Up Whisper White cardstock and a Martha Stewart punch This card looks very monochromatic from these photos, something to do with darkness outside and all the fake lights I used to try and shed some light on it, but daughter has now taken the card so cannot photograph it in daylight. The base of the card is white, then brushed silver and then white again embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder. The images are from Stampin' Up! and are the Love You Much Stamp Set and the Mr & Mrs Stamp Set for the Sentiment. The hearts were then punched out using the Stampin' Up! matching punch. I first of all embossed the image in white for the hearts and punched them out afterwards. The Together Forever sentiment was embossed in silver. The ribbon in the Stampin' Up! Taffeta Ribbon in Basic Gray. The pearls were from my stash. The inside has also been decorated to match the front.

Wedding card made with Stampin Up Whisper White cardstock and a Martha Stewart punch - inside Again I used the Whisper White Cardstock and brushed silver for the base. The punch is a Martha Stewart one and the shape was cut out using nestabilities. Hope you like it and it gives you some inspiration.

I was also so excited this morning when my Killers Blu Ray disc arrived ont he day it was released. It was fillmed Live at the Albert Hall and we were there.... Woohoo!!! Been dying to relive that night and couldn't wait to watch it, I have been driving everyone mad counting down the days, but can you believe the only blu ray drive is on my laptop and when I went to play the disc it had disappeared. After a support call to HP and many clicking of buttons it came back again, but still cannot get any Blu rays to play on it, so have to wait for hubby to get home to have a play and see what he can do... Apparently this is a common problem with HP Blu ray disc drives.... grrrr, if I had of known I would have bought the DVD version. Anyway, off to cook dinner, hope you all have a great weekend... Take Care all xx

A Couple of Things For You Today.....

Yep, thought I would treat you with a couple of things today, first a card I made which I adapted so would be suitable for 2 challenges at once, and the little image folder that I made for my downline.

So firstly the image folder, I used the new stamp set Good Friend, and the new Perfect Plum Patterned Paper, also Elegant Eggplant Cardstock and the new Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, I also used Stampin Up Brads, and Stamp Set for the For You.

I used DL sized Vellum envelopes for the pockets, cut them in half and then punched the tops with the new eyelet border punch. I then punched more Perfect Plum PP with the tab punch to make little tabs for the tops of the pockets. I then finished off by stamping some images to put in the pockets and posted them out to my 5 downline. But the creating didn't stop there, I made some little folders to post out the image folders in, but I thought that as everyone would rip them over I would use some of my retired Stampin Up Patterned Paper along with Sage Shadow Cardstock and here are the finished projects waiting to be posted.

The above photo was the front and I just stuck an address label on the patterned paper, again I used the eyelet border Stampin Up Punch.

And the above photo is the back of the CD folder, I used the scallop border Punch and Grey Taffeta Ribbon.
My next project was a Get Well Soon Card, for this I used my Whiff of Joy Stamp as I thought it was really cute with the angel blowing kisses, I thought these could be get well kisses....

I used Glorious Green and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, I also used the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set for the Get Well Soon sentiment, although I did use the Stamp a ma jig to shuffle the writing around a bit so it would fit into a circle punch. And as with all my cards I decorated the inside to match....

If you would like details of any of the items I have used or would like to purchase any Stampin Up items, then just drop us a line at LindaLloyd@gmx.net and I will do my best to help you out.

Take care everyone, have a great weekend.

Bookcase Tuesday...

Can you tell I have run out of titles for my blog posts... well anyway, today I bought a bookcase and my son came to visit and made it up for me, but looks like Argos have changed their bookcases as it is smaller than the one we currently have and Argos only do 2 now, a deep bookcase or a baby bookcase, so looks like they are just going to have to look odd. They are in our upstairs hall, so not very noticeable, so shouldn't matter too much as long as it does the job it was intended for. Just need to re-arrange all my books now.... (maybe DH will do it later, although he likes to put things in alphabetical order, and I like to sort them by size)....

Tomorrow I will be making a Mother's Day card, so will post that then, but for today, here is my card.

Rose Red, Whisper White and Bravo Burgundy Cardstock. Rose Red Patterned Paper, Whisper White Taffetta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch and Season of Joy Stamp Set for the Swirl, which was stamped in versamark and embossed with Stampin Up White Embossing Powder, and Level 2 Hostess Set, Cause For Celebration. The sentiment was computer generated.

Off to take my son to cubs, have a great evening all xx

Just Another Manic Monday.....

Hope you all had a brilliant weekend. We went to London on Saturday and took the 3 boys, they love going on the train and we went to the O2.... We went to see the Body World Exhibition, it was excellent, very interesting and the boys loved it even though they are only 6, 8 and 12. It is the exhibition where they have the real human bodies in various forms, ie showing muscles, showing the circulatory system etc, it really wasn't as gruesome as it sounds, and the boys were thrilled and excited by the exhibition, they are now going around telling people, we went and saw dead people....lol After this we went to a really fab restaurant called Las Iguanas, the same one me and hubby went to before we went to see The Killers a couple of weeks ago. They were brilliant with the children and although we ordered their meals from the childrens menus they ended up with portions the same size as us for much reduced prices, and of course hubby had to help them out with some of their food....

My diet is going badly, am hardly losing any weight even though most weeks I stick strictly to my points, and I have even started walking lots and ended up putting on 1/4lb. I have since found out that the contraceptive injection makes you put on tons of weight for no particular reason, so now think I am fighting a losing battle, but not to be beaten yet, I have decided to try and low carb diet, how wonderful to eat bacon and chorizo sausage that I haven't been able to eat for weeks.... have ordered some books on Amazon and waiting for them to arrive, cook books and another book telling how it works, so cant wait for them to arrive, but in the meantime I have found some recipes on the Atkins site, so will start off with them.

The title to this blog post, well I am always running here and there and today was no exception, take daughter and her car to MOT, go and pick them up, an appointment, weekly shop and school runs, so decided to have a day off from making cards, but will be busy busy busy again tomorrow as daughter wants a 50th birthday card for Wednesday.... but you will be pleased to know that I have a few cards in case I dont have time to make any, so will post one of those for you this evening.

I used Tempting Turquoise and Elegant Eggplant Cardstock, plus Sunshine Yellow which I chalked to make it a bit orangey. The Sentiment is from the Occasional Greeting Stamp Set, stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink. The ribbon is Stampin Up White Taffetta.

Thats all for this evening as I have to take my little boy to Beavers... have a great evening, take care xx

A Nice Relaxing Weekend....

We had a nice relaxing weekend, nothing too strenuous went on, but only because we had forgotten that the garden needed doing... lol

The weekend started with our meal which was very yummy, in fact very very yummy which we ate alongside a very nice Hardy's Chardonnay, my favourite white wine, the new look bedroom was very relaxing with all the candles lit too, must remember to take some photographs...

Little pug has had her big lampshade collar taken off today and looks much better now, she is now able to eat by herself as there is no collar to get in the way, so look out cats she will be after your food again...

And my card for today is...

Again mainly Stampin Up, I used the Bloomin' With Beauty Stamp Set, the retired Le Jardin Designer Patterned Paper, Pretty In Pink Taffetta Ribbon and the edge was punched using my Fiskars Border Punch. The Sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set and stamped in Always Artichoke Ink. Hope you like it....

Stampin Up are also bringing out a Mini Catalogue which will start on 1st April until 30th September, watch this space for more details....

I will be doing a Paper Share once the Catalogue comes out, you will get 1 6 x 6 sheet of all the Designer Patterned Papers in the current catalogue, plus 1 6 x 6 sheet from the 3 new packs in the mini catalogue, you will also get 1m of each of the 3 new Striped Grosgrain ribbons in So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue. Have a good day all xx

No snow here, but I have been productive...

So the rain in Spain has come to my home town and it is miserable, and the rain is melting the last of the snow, guess that is what happens when you live on the coast.

Today I have been quite productive, I have actually made 4 cards and packed and posted another Stampin' Up! Stampers 10 Club order out to all the girls. But I am only going to show you one card, so that I have some to post when I dont make any.... lol

I got a lot of inspiration for this card from the Stampin' Up! catalogue. The Cardstock I used is Really Rust, Whisper White, Old Olive, and the Patterned Paper is Cosmo Cricket. The Stamp Set I used is Baroque Motifs, with Very Vanilla Taffetta Ribbon and pearls etc from the Pretties Kit. I used the same Cardstock for the inside but used my Martha Stewart Punch for the edges. The circles were cut using various sizes of the Stampin' Up! circle punches.
And that is about it for today, need to go cook a roast for dinner and maybe I will get time to sit and read my book whilst it is cooking. Have a good evening all xx

Thought I Would Go For Something Different....

Yep, I was getting bored with those colours, so thought I would try something different today, and stamped and coloured some images... It is my little boys birthday on Saturday, so thought I would be really prepared and make him a card, didn't use too much Stampin' Up! today either...

I used my Prismacolor Pencils, Sansodor and Paper Stumps to colour in the Sugar Nellie image. The patterned paper is Basic Gray, I also used the Stampin' Up! Hodgepodge Hardware, and tied a piece of Kraft Taffetta Ribbon (also Stampin' Up!) to a piece of the Hardware. The big eyelet is surprisingly enough also Stampin' Up!. The sentiment is from the stamp set A Bit of Birthday Cheer. I used Kraft Cardstock for the card blank.

I again used Basic Gray Paper, the card blank and red cardstock is Real Red from Stampin' Up! as are the brads and the ribbon. The image is from Leanne Ellis which I bought from Funky Kits and it is coloured in using my Stampin' Up! waterbrush and Tim Holtz Distress Inks. The flowers are Prima and the sentiment is the same as the last card from A Bit of Birthday Cheer Stamp Set. For the inside I used Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray and Whisper White Cardstock... I dont have anyone in mind for this card so will put it in my very depleted card basket.
My son's basketball team lost their tournament yesterday, in fact they only won one game, so better luck next time guys....
And today is also my little Pug's birthday, Happy Birthday to you Belle, she is 2 today.... this is a rare photo of her sleeping on her own, she normally sleeps on top of our Great Dane...

Have a great evening everyone.. take care xx
