February Card Classes

I thought I would post some piccies of my February Card Classes. Not sure that anyone who comes actually visits my blog. In reality I would have had a Valentine's Class with Love You Much, but no one who was coming actually wanted the valentines class and I had a request for this stamp set, so thought I would do Valentiney colours using this stamp set and there is Monica's little treat pouch incase they want to give something to that special someone. DH is working from home this week and has just watched me making and photographing this treat pouch so I guess giving it to him for Valentines is out of the question... (he also reads my blog posts so I will know he has read it when he laughs later)....

We will be making 3 cards and a treat pouch using the A Rose is a Rose Stamp Set, the Saleabration Happy Moments Stamp Set for the Happy Birthday Sentiment and the sanded large stamp for the background on one of the cards. The colours used are Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Always Artichoke Inkpads, plus the Chocolate Chip inkpad for the sentiments. The Patterned Paper is from the Old Olive and Rose Red Packs.

I also used the leaf/tree stamp from the Good Neighbours Saleabration Stamp Set, I love this little stamp for stamping backgrounds and edging pages. I never noticed before but the Word Window Punch fits nicely across the Scallop Circle Punch.

I used the sentiment from the A Rose is a Rose Stamp Set for the above card, but coloured just the first 2 words in using the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker Pen.

How cute is this little treat pouch filled with mint imperials. Thanks Monica for showing us a tutorial of how to make it.

The background for this card was stamped using the Sanded Stamp Set, I left the stamp image upwards on the desk, inked it up and then put the cardstock over the stamp and rubbed it down well, I ended up with a nice crisp image. The word window is punched out of the layers on this card and the layers are raised up using Stampin' Dimensionals and the Happy Birthday sentiment is below it if you see what I mean so that it really is a window.

Hope you like it, hope my ladies will like it too.... take care everyone and have a great day xx

Storage

I thought I would show you how I store some of my Stampin' Up! Stash just incase anyone is rearranging their Craft Room and needs a bit of inspiration.... my Stampin' Up! Ribbon fits nicely on this hanger, I just bent the hanger bit around so it sits on the edge of my wardrobe. The poles unhook at one end and you can just slide the ribbon on (unfortunately not every ribbon in the UK catalogue fits on, the new striped ribbons dont but the 3 colours from the mini do)....
I bought the hanger in Poundstretcher and it cost about £4.

Next is my A4 Cardstock Storage. I keep this in 2 RUB, each box fits in 2 colour families with room to spare (and I mean full packs of each cardstock too), plus one fits in the Very Vanilla and Whisper White and the other has the mixed packs of Sahara Sand, Basic Grey etc.... After use I put the lids back on and store one on top of the other.

And last but not least my 12 x 12 Cardstock and Patterned Paper. I bought this storage unit from ebay, it cost £30 (slightly more with next day delivery) and as the drawers are slightly bigger than 12 x 12 it all fits in rather nicely.... as you can see there are loads of drawers so you dont have to pack each one too tightly and my Stampin' Ink Caddy sits on top as though it were made for it.... Hope you found this useful.

Take care all xx

A Black and White Day......

Well this afternoon we are off to see The Specials... woohoo, another group from my youth, like Spandau Ballet who we saw last month.... cannot wait to see them, we are seeing them at The Cliffs Pavillion in Southend, so a nice small venue, and of course you cannot sit down if you are seeing a group like this, so standing it is..... and because when they were around in the 80s it was all black and white SKA music I decided that today I would have to make a black and white card, albeit not a very happy one though, but the idea came to me and I just had to make it...

I used the new Whisper White Craft Ink to stamp the image and then embossed it with white embossing powder, all from Stampin' Up! and the new White and Black Thick Grosgrain Ribbon... the sentiment is from the new Trendy Trees stamp set and the main tree image is the Lovely As A Tree stamp set. The pearls are from my stash.

The inside I stamped with the middle image of the stamp on the front of the card, I just coloured that particular tree in with the Black Stampin' Up! marker, and the sentiment is from one of their retired sets.
My bookworm counter has now hit 2000, but I dont have time today to make the draw, but I will be drawing it tomorrow at 10am UK time.... I am also expecting a huge box of Stampin' Up! stash as my Stampers 10 Stash is arriving and will be making the trip to the Post Office tomorrow afternoon hopefully. If you would like to join my new Stampers 10 Club starting in January, contact me on LindaLloyd@gmx.net, you can choose the month you would like to be hostess, plus you will get a free 6 x 6 paper pack with your first order. Check out my left hand sidebar for more details.

Have a great day all, I am sure I will xx
