Fun and Fast Notes

First of all I just have to tell you that my little grandson cut his first tooth today.... how exciting is that, note to self, no more putting fingers near his mouth....

Thought I would try something a little different to what I would normally do.... I made some cards and put them in a pretty little box, and I only used 1 Stamp Set really.... well the little flower inside and on the envelopes came from a second set, but that doesn't count really does it??

So I used the Fun and Fast Notes Stamp Set, the little flower out of One Of A Kind, I used Sage Shadow and Always Artichoke Cardstock and Inkpads, the grosgrain ribbon is Always Artichoke and the Patterned Paper is retired but still available and is called Wintergreen. The box is made from the same cardstock and paper and the ribbon is Certainly Celery, the white flower is from the Pretties kit, as is the little pearl in the middle... and voila a nice little present for someone's birthday, or just to show you care and doesn't take forever to make either.

Have been busy packing some Stampin Up Orders today, and added a little something to their parcels, but cannot show you yet, also went shopping in Tesco and whilst there, picked up a few things which I intend to use in my making in the future, so watch this spot for that. Next week is my card order week, and so I will be posting more non SU stuff, not that I dont absolutely love my SU stash, it is just that I have a load of new stamps that I haven't managed to use yet. I also need to make a card for my son's birthday on Saturday, he will be 24, doesn't time fly, I remember when I brought him home from hospital..

Have a good evening all, take care x

EDITED TO ADD THAT I ONLY NEED 1 MORE PERSON....

Another Card With The Same Stamp Set....

Yep, it is official, I love this Stamp Set, A Rose is A Rose, it is sooooo versatile... this time I used Sahara Sand, Real Red and Old Olive Cardstock (can you see where I used the Old Olive?) and Patterned Paper from Holiday Treasures, a bit of Kraft Taffeta Ribbon and Old Olive Brads, the Sentiment is from Best Yet which is a Level 1 Hostess Stamp Set (place an order for £150 with me and get this stamp set for free, plus you can also have £15 of free goodies from the catalogue and I will post it all to you for nothing).... and the scallops were cut using the Scallop Edge Punch, except for the nestabilities Scallop Oval... I used Real Red and Ruby Red Ink, with Old Olive for the petals. The silver sentiment frame is from the Hodgepodge Hardware...

Well we have had thunder, lightening, snow, hail and rain here since it got dark this evening, the roads are now a mess so hoping it doesn't all freeze tonight, will be a nightmare during rush hour tomorrow if it does... think I may just have a lie in tomorrow...

DH is fixing my tumble dryer, the parts turned up today, so hope that the original problem is the only problem, as there are 9 of us here, we do generate quite a bit of washing, and it is very hard to keep up with it all without a tumble dryer, and I end up with double the ironing which cuts into valuable crafting time.

Off to crack the whip.... have a good evening x

Life in My House Is Weird......

Went into the bathroom this morning to have a shower only to find I will have to share it with a duck.... where did it come from??? On further investigation I find it belongs to my 12 year old son, apparently he got it at Church Conference in Brighton in July, where has it been hiding all this time??

A Rose is a Rose....

Isn't this card beautiful?? This stamp set is absolutely wonderful and I just knew that if I did it in blue, it could become a Christmas Card for someone who doesn't really celebrate Christmas...

I used A Rose is a Rose Stamp Set, Brocade Blue Ribbon, Brocade Blue Cardstock and Inkpad, Bashful Blue Patterned Paper, and Bashful Blue Inkpad.... I used the clear gem brads from the Pretties Kit. I used the Dazzling Diamonds to bling up the rose and its petals which I think just makes it more magically Christmassy....

And if you would like to become a demonstrator and you sign up with me during October and November you could pick this Stamp Set and receive it FREE along with any other stamp set of your choice too.... problem is, I only need 1 more person to sign up, and then all the stamp sets will be gone. If you would like more information about becoming a Stampin Up Demonstrator, e-mail me at LindaLloyd@gmx.net

And I have survived the first day of half term...... a miracle in itself...

Have a good evening all x

Getting Ready For Halloween.....

Even though we dont really celebrate Halloween in our house, but my little boy has a Halloween Party to go to this year and I am expecting some small children from round our way to knock on our door, so thought I would knock up a few things for Friday....

First of all, I bought some little test tubes from e-bay and filled them with some Skittles, I also managed to knock together a little box to hold the test tube in and decorated them in (hopefully!!) Halloween colours from Stampin Up, namely Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie, I then punched the scallop circle out in Pumpkin Pie and stuck a circle of Elegant Eggplant over the top, this was topped with a little bat made from Stampin Ups scallop circle with some little stick on eyes, I then tied a bit of Pumpkin Pie ribbon round the top of the test tube and voila.... a small gift for a lucky little child.

And the next little Halloween gifts are not made from Stampin Up UK items as we dont have any Halloween Stamp Sets in our catalogue, we are hoping to change that for next year, so if you would like to see some Stampin Up stamp sets in next years catalogue, just contact SU themselves and ask for them...

They are little Jubilee packets and the halloween set used comes from US but the cardstock is Stampin Up again in Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Eggplant, they are filled with little sweets and my own children are after them already, (I will make them one each, I'm not that cruel... !!).

Oooh think DH has arrived back with our Kebab as too drained from yesterday to do much today, and no cooking sounds good to me, although we did have sausages, beans egg and toast for breakfast and my DD who is 15 cooked this for us even after her operation on her mouth yesterday..... and to all my family who asked.... I'm afraid the surgeon wouldn't sew her mouth shut....

Have a good evening all xx

I'm Hoping This Will Work As......

My daughter is going into hospital today to have an operation on her mouth, she has been waiting 15 weeks when she was told she would wait no more than 12 and then only got this appointment because I rang on Tuesday to find out how much longer she would have to wait and lo and behold there was a cancellation for this Friday, unfortunately we have not received a letter (although one was promised on Tuesday) and so we have no idea what we are supposed to take only that we should be there at 7.30am. By the time this posts we should hopefully already be there.

This is the first time I have scheduled a posting so whether or not it works remains to be seen, I will check this out when I get home tomorrow. I will not be around on my Member Forum either for obvious reasons.

Anyway, yesterday I decided to make a little something for my DH who helped with the tricky bits of re-vamping my blog, and listened sympathetically when I rung him at work and told him I had lost everything (luckily this wasn't true and I found where I had backed it up to).... so here is what I made him.... just a little something, mustn't spoil them too much must we... lol

So I made the little box, it has a base and the top slides on, like a matchbox (Look Out Stampers Club Girls, I will demonstrate how to make the box only in my Members Forum).... The base of the box was made from Barely Banana Cardstock and the top is made from Le Jardin Patterned Paper, it is retired, but still available to buy. The Hershey chocolates were wrapped in little pieces of patterned paper and I stamped a little embellishment from the One Of A Kind Stamp Set. The cardstocked used on here was again Barely Banana and Always Artichoke, the ribbon used is Always Artichoke too... and voila a little gift for darling hubby who confessed he has never had a Hersheys Chocolate before.

If this posts, have a good day girls, take care xx

Stampers 10 Club

I am hoping to start another Stampin 10 Club as soon as I have enough people, I need 8 more to start. All you need to do is commit yourself to the club for 10 months and spend a minimum of £15 a month. For this you will get a free stamp set (or maybe more depending on the sales that month) and at least £15 of free stash from the NEW catalogue. You will get a free catalogue posted to your door. You will also get 5 freebies included in your parcels during the 10 months, including make and takes, project ideas, and other little gifts. So this is how it works, to receive the free stamp set and goodies I need to put in an order of £150 or more, 10 people spending £15 meet these requirements so each month one person will play "hostess" you dont have to do anything for this it is a virtual party, just let me have your order (remember if you have a big wishlist, order some of it on your hostess month as your rewards go up with the sales) and you will receive your free items in with your parcel that month. I need to have 8 more people before I can start this, but just think of all that gorgeous stuff you can stock up on from the new catalogue in the next 10 months. E-mail me if you are interested at LindaLloyd@gmx.net

Christmas Folder..... + Exciting News For My Club Members

I made one of these for each of my Stampin' Up! customers which I included with their orders last week..... they said they liked them very much, so thought I would post some pictures....

This is what I started off with, last years Christmas Designer Paper, (still available to buy) and Old Olive and Real Red Ink Pads, also Real Red and Always Artichoke in the Grosgrain Ribbon and Real Red 12x12 textured cardstock.
I used the Stamp Set Season of Joy to embellish it with...
More Designer Paper to decorate the back, then I ran 2 long length of ribbon along the outside so I could tie it shut....

And here is the finished article, with cards to note your Christmas Card List, your Shopping List, Menu etc.... why not make one for yourself and be super organised this Christmas.
I have very exciting news for my Club Members (that Stampers 10 and Spots and Markers Club).... if you click on the Member Forum button above the post it will take you to a Member Only Forum where you can chat and show off your cards with your fellow members. There is also a place where I will be posting exclusive projects and a place to ask any questions you might have.... hopefully it will be a chatty and inspirational place for us all.... All you have to do is register and I will accept your registration if you are one of my team members... couldn't be easier, so pop on their today and lets get chatting...

A Receipt Holder....

I have made a CD receipt holder which I saw on this blog http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com/2008/09/tutorial-for-my-cd-receipt-organiser.html except this talented lady made a Christmas one, but I seem to need one for my everyday purchases... I used all Stampin' Up! items to make this...

This is the CD case when it is shut, there is no decoration on the outside, so if you have a large enough handbag, you can slip this inside, along with the kitchen sink and you will always have your receipts with you when you need them.

This is what it look like when it is opened, I have used More Mustard and Old Olive Cardstock, the new scallop edge punch to make the scallop shapes and the Haiku Patterned Paper.

I have used the new Accents and Elements Felt Flowers with Old Olive brads. the brad in the centre of the flower on top of the scallop is from the new Hodgepodge Hardware set, and the scallop is cut out using the scallop punch. The tabs on the top of the sections are the little tabs cut using the tab punch. The stamped sentiment is from One Of A Kind Stamp Set.

I just need 1 more person for my Markers and InkSpots club, so if you want to join, hurry as it is bound to go fast. Contact me on LindaLloyd@gmx.net

And as I said a few weeks ago on my blog there is going to soon be something special for my Stampers 10 and Markers Club members, watch this space whilst my blog undergoes a makeover....

Bloomin' With Beauty

I made this card using the Bloomin' with Beauty set, for a very nice lady who stamped some images for me (not of UK Stampin Up I might add) she liked it so much she said she may use it to demo with.... I am honoured... thank you.

I used Rose Red and Chocolate Chip cardstock, and Rose Red Patterned Paper, the image was stamped in chocolate chip, and the scallops were made using the new scallop edge punch. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip Grosgrain.

This card was made in 10 minutes before Church on Sunday, it was decided that as our Pastor had driven us to London the evening before to see Delirious in concert we should give him a little something to acknowledge his kindness, so we bought him some miniature heros on the way to church but I had to make this beforehand. Didn't turn out too bad, used Chocolate Chip and Mellow Moss Cardstock and Close to Cocoa Patterned Paper, the ribbon was Chocolate Chip Stitched Grosgrain and the eyelets are also by SU. The stamp sets are In the Stars which I used to stamp stars onto the background mellow moss cardstock and the Frames with a Flourish stamp set for the sentiment frame, this was stamped in Chocolate Chip whilst the sentiment was stamped in Mellow Moss.

I will be back tomorrow with something a little bit different, dont forget to check back then....

And The Winner Is......

Well I must say, have had a bit of hassle getting this posted. For some strange reason, every evening, my google e-mail refuses to work and guess what, yep blogger is also google owned too and that doesn't work either. DH has spent most evenings lately trying to get it to work (and he is an IT geek) and it just wont work, and it is only my computer. So have now downloaded Firefox and guess what, it works.... so finally here is the post...

And number 33 is the winner, which is Jackie, so Jackie, if you are reading this could you please let me know your name and address so that I can post it out to you pronto.
A big thank you to all who entered this competition, keep checking back as there will be some more blog candy in the not too distant future.
Oh yes, it also took longer to pick the number as DS who is blindfolded was in just his pants as that is how he goes to bed, but he had to go and put his PJs on before we could photograph him....
Have a good evening all, I have some cards to post on here tomorrow so check back then... xx

More Blog Candy....

Just to let you all know that as well as entering for my blog candy you can hop on over to Edna's blog http://ednasplace.blogspot.com/ to win a £20 voucher for Joanna Sheen's shop.... cant be bad... Edna is a very talented lady and belongs to one of my Stampers 10 Clubs, dont forget to check out her wonderful creations whilst you are there...

Yes, Yet Another Club....

I have been asked by one of my Stampers 10 if I would run a club for 4 people. Here is what it is all about. The Stampin Write markers are excellent quality, but are nearly £100 for a whole set, but the only way you can get the excellent storage case is to buy the whole set at once. What I am offering is this.... 4 people buy one set a month for 4 months, and I will order a complete set to cover this, then each month 1 person will get their 12 pens plus the storage case and the other 3 will just receive their pens. Each month a different person gets a storage case and at the end of the 4 months everyone will have the whole set, plus the excellent storage case to keep them in, but that is not all.... each person will also purchase a complete colour family of ink spots, there are 4 families, so over the 4 months you will end up with all the Stampin Up Ink Colours, and the added bonus here, is that by selling all this together I am entitled to 1 level 1 Hostess Stamp Set and £15 of free goodies and I will be giving this away each month to one of the four as an added bonus of signing up for the 4 months, you can choose the stamp set and the goodies of your choice. The cost of this per month will be £42.45 a month plus £2.55 postage making a grand total of £45 a month.
I only need 3 more people to sign up and we can get this underway....
For more details or to sign up e-mail me at LindaLloyd@gmx.net

Not made entirely from Stampin Up but....

I think it is very pretty, although I guess I am prejudice, I did make it after all...

I used the stamp from the Live The Dream stamp set...

I have also been busy making a little Stampin Up Christmas folder, but cannot show it yet as it was freebie gifts for my Stampin Up customers and they haven't all received their parcels yet, so you will have to wait for another day I am afraid.

Been Playing Today.....

Yep my new stamp sets turned up yesterday so I have had a little play today, nothing much as I had a card order to finish, but have finally finished my nearly 70 cards and will be concentrating solely on Stampin Up stuff this week... including some blog candy, so watch this space.

So this is what I have been making...

Crazy For Cupcakes stamp set, normally £20.95, but if you spend over £20 in the new catalogue you can have it for £16.76 and if you spend over £20 in the new catalogue before Noon tomorrow you can have this stamp set for £14.67, cant be bad... I also used the new Patterned Paper set Tea and Crumpets and the Grosgrain ribbon in Regal Rose, the flower was made using the scallop punch and due to the nature of the sentiment, Happy Unbirthday, that was computer generated, plus I used Pretty in Pink Brad and Always Artichoke cardstock.... voila..

This only uses a new Stamp Set called Garden Whimsey this set normally costs £22.95 but if you buy it before noon tomorrow it will only cost you £20.66, the ribbon is Real Red Grosgrain also from Stampin Up and the cardstock is Real Red too, but the paper is not Stampin Up, I am trying to use up my huge pile of patterned paper.

My little grandson came round yesterday and enjoyed rolling around my bedroom floor, I am trying to introduce him to the joys of Stampin Up, I am sure he will be well into it when he gets a bit older, all those inks and things!!

It is my daughters 21st birthday on Monday and I haven't even got round to making her a card yet, but she is out tomorrow afternoon and so will have an opportunity after we have been geo-caching to make one for her.... funny but just before she was 18 we asked her which birthday she wanted to be her important one, her 18th or 21st and she said 18, now she is telling everyone her 21st is her most important birthday.... lol thats children for you...

Have a good evening all, hope to be back tomorrow...

10% off all orders over £15 until Sunday Noon...

Hi all, I am offering 10% off all items from the new Stampin Up catalogue until noon on Sunday... so if you take advantage of Stampin Ups 20th birthday offer where you get 20% off 3 selected stamp sets if you spend over £20 in the catalogue, you will also get my 10% which makes 30% off the selected stamp sets.... check out the offer further down the page... or contact me for more details at LindaLloyd@gmx.net. So if you want 10% off all new goodies then place your order with me before Sunday.

If you would like to become a Stampin Up Demonstrator and earn money to spend on your own stash or sell to other people to earn extra income, I am offering a free stamp set up to the value of £45 from the new catalogue when you sign up with Stampin Up through me, so as well as the bargain starter set you get from Stampin Up, you will also get a free stamp set to go with it (as I know how hard it is to pick only a few stamp sets)... and you would be silly to pass up this offer... again contact me on LindaLLoyd@gmx.net for more details.

Have a good evening all xx

Scallop Punch and Another Card...

Well I am really on a roll at the minute.... have made another card using the OLD hostess set Oh So Lovely.... and here it is..
As you will see it is another Happy Unbirthday card.... I have to be really careful coz I keep thinking Unhappy Birthday... and that wouldn't be funny would it... lol. Not sure I like the sentiment so may change that before giving it out.

So I used Barely Banana cardstock, masked with a post it note for the sun using the 1 1/4" punch and then using the sponge daubers I daubed Summer Sun over all of the card, next I sponged Pumpkin Pie onto the card leaving some of the Summer Sun showing and then finished it off using the Really Rust Ink around the edges. Next I stamped the image from Oh So Lovely in Black onto the picture, I coloured the little berries in red and then drew along the stalks with green, next I drew along the edges of the stalk with white to pop it slightly and then black to make the shadow on the other side. Printed a computer generated sentiment on to the card, and then mounted it onto matt gold cardstock, then basic black and last but not least pumpkin pie.. voila finished.

As I am expecting my first orders from the new catalogue in the next couple of days and most of my customers have ordered a scallop punch, I thought I would add this video clip from YouTube showing how to make your corners look good whilst using your scallop punch... unfortunately I couldn't find any Stampin Up ones (as they are new) but have found one for the Fiskars border punch, which does work as I have tried it, I am hoping the same thing will apply to the Stampin Up one... so have a watch, so you are all prepared for when they arrive....

Have a good day all xx

What do you know.... 2 posts in one day...

Here is a card using a technique called resist emboss, I made one for my mum last week but forgot to photograph it.... grrr!!

I stamped the image using the Summer by the Sea stamp set, but I first inked the stamp in versamark and then the basic black and stamped the image onto whisper white cardstock. I then embossed the outline using clear embossing powder. I then coloured the image in, then coloured all over the image with a versamark pen and embossed it again, protecting all the colouring that I had done. I masked the top part of the picture with post it notes and using sponge daubers, daubed all over the bottom of the image using Certainly Celery, next I daubed Mellow Moss around the bottom but leaving a bit of the certainly celery showing, next came Old Olive, daubed that leaving a bi of the mellow moss showing, last but not least comes Always Artichoke, daubed all around the edge leaving some of the Old Olive showing.
Next I masked off the green that I had just daubed and took the masking off the top of the card. Using Bashful Blue, I daubed all over the top part and continued as for the bottom using brocade blue, Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy. Next I computer printed the sentiment as I am making 12 Happy Unbirthday cards and have no sentiment stamps for this. I then tied some Real Red grosgrain ribbon around the bottom and added three brads from the bold brights set. Finally mounted onto real red cardstock and then Night of Navy and there we go all finished.

Not all Stampin Up...

but I have used a wonderful Stampin Up set called True Friend....

The paper is by Crate Paper, and the little frill I made using one of my Martha Stewart punches. The little metal hardware tag is from the Stampin Up Hodgepodge Hardware which is still on sale but has retired so if you want this set which contains 138 little metal embellishments, contact me on LindaLloyd@gmx.net for more information. The little embellishment was originally silver but I embossed it with white embossing powder to match the card...

Have a good day all

In Time For Halloween

Thought I would attempt to make a halloween card today, but found Halloween sets lacking in the new Stampin Up catalogue, so although they do have a Halloween sentiment, I couldn't find a pumpkin, so I improvised.....

Yes I have used apples with Pumpkin Pie and Glorious Green Ink to try and make them look a bit like pumpkins, otherwise how about this.... you bob for apples on halloween.... lol

For this card I used Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum and Basic Black cardstock, Earth Elements brads, Pumpkin Pie, Glorious Green and Basic Black Ink, I embossed the Happy Halloween sentiment which is in the Occasional Greetings set, and used Old Olive Ribbon.... the apples are from the brand new Tart and Tangy stamp set which is available now in the new catalogue which you can browse if you click on the catalogue on the right hand side. Just let me know if there is anything you want at LindaLloyd@gmx.net. The little bat was made using the new 2" Scallop Circle Punch from Stampin Up, you can find instructions for it here.... http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1054178...

Check back here regularly for more ideas using the Stampin Up sets.

First Time I've Made One Of These Cards...

I've never had to make one of these cards before, personally I dont send them as I wouldn't be keen on receiving them either, dont know why, just one of those things, but I have been asked to make 2 of them, so go gentle on me as this is my first attempt.

Again the light was not too good, but the colours are Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and a small bit of Bravo Burgundy, also Bravo Burgundy ribbon and the image was from a hostess set in the last catalogue called Oh So Lovely...

Which brings me to this weeks news.... order over £25 of goods from the catalogue before Sunday and I will post them to you for free.. nada, zilch... however much you order... and if you have a really really big order, (over £150) you can also enjoy a free Level 1 Hostess Set from the catalogue and an additional £15 of free goods of your choice also from the catalogue... can't be bad!! The above offer is for UK only, sorry no international orders... So take a look at our new scallop edge punch, or the textured 12 x 12 cardstock, and all the yummy new stamp sets, including 3 which have 20% off if you buy over £20 worth of stash... which are Crazy For Cupcakes (Page 32), Birthday Best (Page 33) and Cheer and Wishes (Page 58)...
