Father's Day.... (a bit late)

I know, I know, this post is about a month late, but I did actually make some cards although they were a case from the lovely Jules, why not check out her blog...

Anyway, this is a card from the children to my Stepdad as he only lives about 2 miles down the road, I used the Cheers to You stamp set and the Jackpot Patterned Paper...

and here is a view from the other side, as you can see I forgot to photograph it until after the children had written in it.... ha ha

This card was made using the monkey that the wonderful Jules makes, isn't it cute... this one was for DH from the children. The monkey is made using all Stampin' Up! punches... isn't Julie clever? The cloud is from my Papertrey Ink die and the leaves are from the Stampin' Up! bird punch. I also made a card for my dad, not sure what happened to the photograph, I am sure I did photograph it, so will show you that when I find it... have a great evening all xx

Can You Guess....

Who we went to see on Saturday....? Yes it was Madness, excellent concert and yet again we were at the barrier at the front. Unfortunately on our way to the concert we had a car accident with another car. The weather was awful, very wet, raining and we were down a very bendy country lane. DH braked to take a bend (we were doing less than half the speed limit of 60) and as he turned the wheel to take the left hand bend the car just kept going sideway and there was a car coming in the opposite direction and we hit him side onto side. Luckily no one was hurt and the guy was very calm and not at all angry, he said he had debated using that lane as he thought it was dangerous in the wet.... yep, he was right. Luckily after details were exchanged we were able to go on our way, our car was not too badly damaged, but his was much worse....

Anyway, after that we managed to arrive at the concert safely, and despite some real idiot guys who were so drunk behind us and threatening to kill everyone who didn't get out of their way (unfortunately 2 girls who we had been chatting to and who had been standing behind us had to move because these guys were just too violent). I have rub marks on my back bruised ribs and back because of them, but hey... no way was I giving my space on the barrier up... lol

Anyway, onto my makes.... I made 70 of these cute Father Christmas cards for my boys to give to their school friends, I cased it from a very talented ladies website (unfortunately I do not remember her blog at the moment, will add it later) and she cased it from someone on SCS... how cute are they? Not so cute after making 70 of them I can tell you.
Recipe: Cardstock:- Stampin' Up! Real Red, Close to Cocoa, Basic Black and Whisper White. tools: Cuttlebug folder, Crinkler, Stampin' Up punches.
The next card was made using Papertrey Ink paper... I glittered the snowflakes to give them a bit of sparkle.

Recipe: Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink. Cardstock:- Papermill Shop, Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery and Real Red. Tools: Stampin' Up! Tag Punches, Nestabilities Snowflakes. Ribbon:- Stampin' Up! Real Red, Stampin' Up! Silver Cord.
Hope you like them, will be back with a couple more tomorrow... just wondering how to photograph them as they are acetate cards and photographs just do not do them justice.
Have a great evening all xx

A Monster Day....

Tomorrow is my littlest boy's birthday and he will be a whopping 7 years old. He is a big monster, so what better card to make than a monster card... lol

October Afternoon Patterned Paper, Sentiments are computer generated, the happy birthday was cut out using the small square punch from Stampin' Up! and the monster and feet are from the Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge, the lips are a quickutz die. And finally a Martha Stewart Edging Punch. Didn't take me too long which makes a nice change, and I am sure he will like it...
Have a great weekend, I am sure I will as I am off to a Make and Take day with a lovely lady called Steph and 28 other people who I am just dying to meet, then afterwards we are off to the Cinema to see A Christmas Carol for my little boys birthday, picking up a takeaway on the way home, I was thinking KFC, but I think he has other ideas...
Take Care xx

BLOG CANDY

I have made the draw this morning, first of all I removed posts if someone had made more than 1 comment so that everyone had one comment each, that left 26 posts. The winner is number 10.... I couldn't get the random.org table to save anywhere for some reason...

Number 10 is.....
Molsmum

A couple of Challenges...

I know, I have managed to post twice 2 days running, I think this is a record for me, but I just wanted to get this card entered for the Stamp With Us Challenge here and the Sketch Saturday Challenge here.

The Stamp With Us Challenge needed me to use 3 patterned papers, 3 brads, 3 coloured cards and 3 different stamps, which I have managed. The patterned papers are a new Stampin Up Set called Bella Bleu, and I used 3 different papers from this set. The 3 brads are from Stampin Up and are at the bottom of the Flower Image. The 3 coloured cards I used are Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla and Kraft which you can just see poking out from underneath the image. And the 3 different stamps are the sentiment stamp which comes from the Stampin Up Say It With Scallops Set, the little blue stamped circle just underneath the flower is from the Stampin Up Circle Circus Set and the flower image itself is from the Stampin Up Bloomin' With Beauty Set. The border punch is also the new Stampin Up Eyelet Border Punch and I used the 5-Petal Flower Punch for the flower. To finish it off I stuck a Kraft Taffeta bow onto the flower stem and layered the middle of the sentiment with dimensionals. Oooh one last thing, the holes around the edge of the image is made using the Tool Set from Stampin Up, although you can now buy the Template, Mat and Sticky Tool seperately.

And again I decorated the inside to match the outside.... If you click on the images they will be shown larger and will be much clearer.

And just so that you can see the how deep it is and how I have raised the images to give dimension...
The Sketch Saturday challenge looked like this...

Hopefully I have fulfilled this sketch too, the 3 circles I have used as a flower and 2 sets of leaves... hope this counts. Everything else is in order though.

Thanks everyone for the challenges, I have had great fun making this card today.

Take care all xx

A Couple of Things For You Today.....

Yep, thought I would treat you with a couple of things today, first a card I made which I adapted so would be suitable for 2 challenges at once, and the little image folder that I made for my downline.

So firstly the image folder, I used the new stamp set Good Friend, and the new Perfect Plum Patterned Paper, also Elegant Eggplant Cardstock and the new Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, I also used Stampin Up Brads, and Stamp Set for the For You.

I used DL sized Vellum envelopes for the pockets, cut them in half and then punched the tops with the new eyelet border punch. I then punched more Perfect Plum PP with the tab punch to make little tabs for the tops of the pockets. I then finished off by stamping some images to put in the pockets and posted them out to my 5 downline. But the creating didn't stop there, I made some little folders to post out the image folders in, but I thought that as everyone would rip them over I would use some of my retired Stampin Up Patterned Paper along with Sage Shadow Cardstock and here are the finished projects waiting to be posted.

The above photo was the front and I just stuck an address label on the patterned paper, again I used the eyelet border Stampin Up Punch.

And the above photo is the back of the CD folder, I used the scallop border Punch and Grey Taffeta Ribbon.
My next project was a Get Well Soon Card, for this I used my Whiff of Joy Stamp as I thought it was really cute with the angel blowing kisses, I thought these could be get well kisses....

I used Glorious Green and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, I also used the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set for the Get Well Soon sentiment, although I did use the Stamp a ma jig to shuffle the writing around a bit so it would fit into a circle punch. And as with all my cards I decorated the inside to match....

If you would like details of any of the items I have used or would like to purchase any Stampin Up items, then just drop us a line at LindaLloyd@gmx.net and I will do my best to help you out.

Take care everyone, have a great weekend.

A Few Cards..... and a really nice lady....

Have been busy this week making some cards and thought you might like to see it.... so much has been going on in my life at the moment and everything had to be put on a shelf until I get through the other side, and hopefully now I am re-emerging....

Sunday afternoon I had a phone call from my DDs boyfriend who she was out with saying his friend (they are 14) had fallen off his bike, couldn't move his leg and there was blood.... having worked on the ambulances could I please come and help him. I told him to call an ambulance and I zipped off in my car to their location. Took one look at the blood, realised it was nothing to do with his leg and all to do with the handlebars of his bike that had pierced his lower torso, there wasn't too much blood, so decided not to move him but try and calm him down. No one could contact his mother so DH went off to his to see if she was there, and meantime I managed to calm him down so much he was talking on his mobile phone to his Dad when the ambulance arrived. His mum turned up shortly afterwards and we planned that I would take his new bike to my house and lock it in my garage, so I gave her my address so she could pick it up when she was ready. Her friend then turned up and took the bike and I took off, leaving Mum, son and ambulance waiting for a back up ambulance... Well Wednesday evening there is a knock at the door, this lady remembered where I had lived and bought me a bottle of wine for looking after her son until she got there.... how kind was that, and it turns out she is a newly trained midwife who has seen my pregnant daughter on a couple of occasions for a check up.... her son started to bleed really badly once they got him on the ambulance, so I was so glad I hadn't moved him, and had to have an operation, but came home Wednesday afternoon....

Anyway, on to the couple of cards....

This is for Mum, it is her birthday on Monday, but she has gone away for a few days as a birthday treat, so had to get it made and finished for yesterday....

Recipe:- Stampin Up Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant and Lavender Lace. The flourish is cut out using my Cricut Expression and the edging is a Martha Stewart Punch. The "Happy Birthday" was made using my new Start Rite font stamps and cut out using the Window Slot Punch from Stampin Up. Old Olive and Whisper White Ribbon used along the edge. The diamond embossed rectangle that the flower is sitting on was made using acetate and a cuttlebug folder.

This card was made for my little boy's friend whose birthday party he went to last week.... I coloured a skateboarder and a fireman and my little boy chose the fireman...

Recipe:- Greetings Farm Fireman Stamp, Stampin Up Stamps, Stampin Up Tempting Turquoise cardstock, Green Galore Cardstock and Elegant Eggplant Cardstock. Real Red and Tempting Turquoise Inkpads... The Greetings Farm image was coloured in using Copic Marker and the star shape was cut out using the Stampin Up Star Punch....

That's all for today, have a good evening everyone xx

Selling Some Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets....

I have decided to sell some of my stash as I have way too much, thought I would advertise it for a week on my blog before listing it on e-bay. So todays bargains are Stampin' Up!s Saleabration Sets. I have way too many of these and need to sell some to the unlucky people that didn't manage to get their hands on them when they were on offer. You are now unable to purchase these sets as only the people that bought a certain amount of Stampin' Up! managed to get their little crafting mitts on them, so am selling these....

The above set is called Botanical Blooms, it is brand new, never been used, not even mounted and I would like £15 for this which will include postage. Click on the picture to see a larger version of it.

This set is called Yummy, again £15 for this including postage, if you would like to purchase 2 of the sets, the cost will be £28 including postage.

This set is called Congrats, I would like £12 including postage for this set. If you would like to purchase all 3 sets the cost will be £38.

This set is called Polka Dot Punches. I would like £15 for this. The scallop edge punch and flower punch from Stampin' Up! can be used for punching out these designs. If you would like all 4 sets, the cost will be £50 including postage. I will also include some Stampin' Up! 6 x 6 inch sheets of patterned paper with your Stamp Sets. If you are interested, just click on the link above which says CONTACT ME and let me know. I think I have 4 of each set up for grabs.
Once I have sorted out all my craft stuff and sold it, I will be starting up my blog again as I will then have room to work.
Tomorrow I will be selling some of my Magnolia and Sugar Nellie Stamps, so look out for that.
I will also have some giveaways over the next few weeks so look out for that also... Have a great evening everyone.

Oh No I Forgot.....

To take a photo of the card I made for my daughter to give to her MIL tomorrow on her 50th birthday, I was so pleased I had finished it that I didn't photograph it, maybe I can get her to bring it back... lol

Anyway, I still have a card to show you. I had 2 wonderful girls decide to become Demonstrators last month and they joined my team. I made them a card each to send with their free stamp sets, plus a little ribbon sampler, which I also didn't photograph. But here is the card...

I used Bashful Blue Cardstock, Summer Picnic Patterned Paper, some felt flowers from the Accents and Elements Set, a Bashful Blue Brad, the image is from the Tart and Tangy Set inked in Real Red and Old Olive. The Welcome sentiment is from an old Hostess Set we had in the last catalogue.... you can only get the Hostess Sets whilst the catalogue is current, once it finishes you can no longer get these wonderful sets. I also used the Tag Punches to cut out the Tag Shapes. Hope you like it...

Have a great evening, take care

Linda

A Great Assembly...

Today I went to watch my 8 year old son in his assembly, every term or so they perform an assembly for the parents so they can see what they have been learning that term. This term he has been learning about Henry VIII. He brought an invitation home on Monday with a drawing of Henry VIII on, and it really did look like him, then today his class acted out a "This Is Your Life" of Henry VIII..... and even his beheaded wives were there... lol It was excellent and they all sang along to Greensleeves twice... awesome.

My mum came back from her holiday in Cyprus yesterday, and popped round today, she brings the children crisps and biscuits each week as a treat and today was no exception. She was in Cyprus for 3 weeks, but she didn't enjoy it very much, she did go 20 years ago and she loved it, but she says she wouldn't go back again, it was very expensive, they couldn't afford to eat out, plus the buses stopped running about 6.30pm, so they would also have had to get a cab back to the hotel. Out of the 21 days only 5 were sunny, the rest it either rained, thundered or lightening... what a shame when you spend so much money on a holiday and it doesn't turn out how you hoped...

Have today downloaded (legally) U2s new album and they will be announcing their tour on 9th March so not long to go now.... we last went to see them in Poland in July 2005, what an awesome time we had, and it is amazing how all these Polish people know the words to all their songs, I do wonder if they know what they are singing about, especially when they sang Yahweh!! Must admit their album is a bit slower than normal, their latest single is the most upbeat song, followed closely by Magnificent, but the others are much slower, cant see how they are going to rock stadiums with these.....

Anyway, on to the card I have for you today....

I have used Live Your Dream Stamp Set, the sentiment is computer generated. I used Very Vanilla Ribbon and Cardstock along with Night of Navy Cardstock. The image was stamped with Night of Navy, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie inks. The border was cut using my Fiskars Border Punch.

Have a great evening all xx

A Nice Relaxing Weekend....

We had a nice relaxing weekend, nothing too strenuous went on, but only because we had forgotten that the garden needed doing... lol

The weekend started with our meal which was very yummy, in fact very very yummy which we ate alongside a very nice Hardy's Chardonnay, my favourite white wine, the new look bedroom was very relaxing with all the candles lit too, must remember to take some photographs...

Little pug has had her big lampshade collar taken off today and looks much better now, she is now able to eat by herself as there is no collar to get in the way, so look out cats she will be after your food again...

And my card for today is...

Again mainly Stampin Up, I used the Bloomin' With Beauty Stamp Set, the retired Le Jardin Designer Patterned Paper, Pretty In Pink Taffetta Ribbon and the edge was punched using my Fiskars Border Punch. The Sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set and stamped in Always Artichoke Ink. Hope you like it....

Stampin Up are also bringing out a Mini Catalogue which will start on 1st April until 30th September, watch this space for more details....

I will be doing a Paper Share once the Catalogue comes out, you will get 1 6 x 6 sheet of all the Designer Patterned Papers in the current catalogue, plus 1 6 x 6 sheet from the 3 new packs in the mini catalogue, you will also get 1m of each of the 3 new Striped Grosgrain ribbons in So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue. So in summary

I need 8 people for one of these groups and this will be dispatched to you in April once the Mini Catalogue comes out. If you are interested please let me know at LindaLloyd@gmx.net

Have a good day all xx

Another Card to Share With You...

Have been making a few cards today and a little gift, but cannot show them yet... but in the meantime I have a couple of cards to show you.

For this card I used Cosmo Cricket Paper (I think) and the sentiment is from Papertrey Inc Stamps. The cross is too... I used Real Red Cardstock and flowers from my stash.

For this card I used Bashful Blue and Whisper White cardstock, the Bashful Blue stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps. The scallop edge was made using the Fiskar's Threading Water Punch and the scallop ovals were made using the Nestabilities. The patterned paper is the Bashful Blue Patterned Paper from Stampin' Up!
And that is about it for today, have a great evening all xx

Wow, what an awful week I have had, which is why I haven't updated my Blog.....

So last week was one that I would like to forget, one that I wish I could wave a magic wand over and turn back the clock.... DH has a few health problems at the moment and was sent for blood tests over a week ago now, they came back, not normal but what was expected, so he went to the Doctors and they said he needed another blood test, so off he went to the hospital and there were 31 people in front of him and he needed to get to work. On the Sunday his car brakes were very strange and so he had to use my car, so half term holiday, no car..... so not only on the Tuesday did he have 31 people in front of him for the blood test he was also trying to get the parts for his car too... total nightmare, his car does not take parts that his car should, they look up the year and type of car and it is never any of the bits it should be, so after the hospital he had to come home, take the wheel off his car and take photographs of his brake cylinders (bearing in mind he has on a shirt and tie ready for work) and eventually gets the bits he needs. Then back to the Doctor's on Friday about the blood test and voila.... excellent, they did the wrong one...... so he had to go back yesterday for yet another one, and then off to the Consultant on Wednesday and the Doctor's again on Friday, I can see his boss getting fed up pretty quickly. In the meantime on the same Tuesday as the car and the 31 people, it is 5pm in the afternoon and my son comes running to me shaking and crying saying my little pugs eyes is popping out, at that minute she runs to me and it is probably the most awful thing I have ever seen in real life, I couldn't even look at her.... so no car, and injured pet, and distraught child and my mind goes blank. I eventually manage to ring my daughter for a lift to the vets, manage to persuade the vet that it is an emergency and no I cannot wait an hour and a half for an appointment. We get there they rush us into a consulting room and say they have to operate right away, "has she eaten".... I say yes, they say well there is a danger whilst she is under anaethestic that she may vomit, choke on it and die, there is also a danger she will loose her eye. I signed the consent form and walked out the vets in tears.... I arrived home and my son is fixing DHs car, and then DH arrives home, the vets ring his mobile phone, they say she is going to lose her eye as the optic nerve has been severed.... this is a nightmare... they ring again about 40 minutes later saying we can pick her up.... poor little thing is so drowsy and is so not herself. One of the children sleep in the lounge with her that night. She is getting used to her problem now, although she still has a large collar over her head as she cannot pull her stitches out her eye, that would be awful, but she has learned now to drink and eat with it on.... here is a picture of her, it doesn't look as horrific as it sounds and when she is asleep you cannot even tell... but I feel so guilty that it happened...

So I have been busy looking after her all week along with the children on half term. I also had a major sort out, change around and new furniture in my bedroom which is also my scrap room.... I will take some photos and post in a few days, I will post some before and after photos... wow there is such a difference, I absolutely love it now, although some things have gone missing and I haven't found them yet.

Yesterday we went to London O2 Arena to see The Killers.... they were absolutely awesome, I am a huge fan of them ever since I saw them support U2 in Poland in 2005, we went to Berlin in 2007 and saw them live there too, and we were between 3 and 5 rows from the front, although I must admit some German kid did try and start a fight with me then.... so last night we had seats instead, although I must say the UK fans are very reserved and so I may have to go abroad next time I want to see a good band and dance and sing along.... and here is the wonderful Mr Flowers...

Wish I could go back again tonight and do it all over again. We also had a wonderful meal at Las Iguanas at the O2 definately worth a trip if you are in the area.... awesome food and excellent staff... the cocktails weren't bad either.

And yes I have made some cards, so here is my card for today....

The Cardstock used was Lovely Lilac and So Saffron, the papers were from my stash, the lace edge is a Fiskars Border Punch. The sentiment is from Verve stamps in US and the flowers and brads are also from my stash. And for those of you who like to see my cards made only with Stampin Up products, keep your eye out as I have a few to post over the coming week.
If anyone would like to sign up as a demonstrator for Stampin Up, today is really the last day to let me know as you need to sign up before the end of February (which is only 4 days away) to get your 2 free stamps sets from the catalogue and your 2 free Saleabration sets which will no longer be available once February is finished... so contact me on LindaLloyd@gmx.net if you are interested. As well as all these free stamp sets you will also get a Starter Kit worth £250 for only £139, plus a discount on your own stash. You dont have to make it a business (although you can if you like) you can just be a hobby demo and buy your own stash at a discount.
Have a great day all, take care

No snow here, but I have been productive...

So the rain in Spain has come to my home town and it is miserable, and the rain is melting the last of the snow, guess that is what happens when you live on the coast.

Today I have been quite productive, I have actually made 4 cards and packed and posted another Stampin' Up! Stampers 10 Club order out to all the girls. But I am only going to show you one card, so that I have some to post when I dont make any.... lol

I got a lot of inspiration for this card from the Stampin' Up! catalogue. The Cardstock I used is Really Rust, Whisper White, Old Olive, and the Patterned Paper is Cosmo Cricket. The Stamp Set I used is Baroque Motifs, with Very Vanilla Taffetta Ribbon and pearls etc from the Pretties Kit. I used the same Cardstock for the inside but used my Martha Stewart Punch for the edges. The circles were cut using various sizes of the Stampin' Up! circle punches.
And that is about it for today, need to go cook a roast for dinner and maybe I will get time to sit and read my book whilst it is cooking. Have a good evening all xx
