Card Class.....

I thought I would show you what we did at my Card Class this month... the ladies all decided last month that they would like to make a masculine card set this month after seeing my card...

But I thought that maybe the flowers were a bit feminine, so I designed a whole new set to make, and I think they all went down really well, everyone seemed pleased and no one found them too difficult.... Here is a photo of the whole set together....

We even made a little Treat Box, I learnt to do this at a day Monica held in Peterborough, I changed the colour etc, but it was not my template.

The colours I used for this was Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard and Always Artichoke... and a small circle of Really Rust.... the Feather image is from the Nature's Nest Stamp Set and the little leaf is from the Autumn Days Stamp Set... the patterned paper is To The Nine's Speciality Paper... the chocolate bar is now all mine.... he he he

This card used Spiced Cider Patterned Paper, Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard Cardstock and the ribbon is Always Artichoke 1/4" Grosgrain. Stamp Set as above... I used the pricking mat and template to make the holes in the cardstock...

Again for this card I used More Mustard and Elegant Eggplant, the patterned paper is To The Nines and the ribbon is 1/4" Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain.

This last card is an easel card, the patterned paper is from the Perfect Plum Patterned Paper set and everything else is as above....
My little grandson who is 23 weeks old was admitted to hospital again last night, this time the doctor seemed positive that he wouldn't be going home until they found out what was wrong, this included having a gastric team on standby at the Royal London Hospital... they observed him last night, did even more blood tests and today decided that maybe he is allergic to dairy products.... er hello, we said this to them 3 months ago.... anyway this meant that I got to have my 22 month old grandson yesterday evening.... what a shame!! ha ha So small grandson is now home, he has kept his last 3 bottles down apart from the normal baby sick and we have our fingers crossed that this is the problem and finally he will start to put on weight.... the doctors have said he will never be able to have dairy products and the baby milk they have given him is only available on prescription, but hopefully for now everything will be fine... thank you everyone who has asked about him.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and Mums that you have a really great Mother's Day.... (ooops still need to make my mum a card...) Take care all xx

Anniversary Card......

This morning I had a Card Class and I think everyone enjoyed themselves, at least they said they did and they all managed to complete some wonderful cards... thank you very much ladies for coming... next months class is going to be made using the Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set, so cannot wait to get experimenting with that set. In the meantime it is my daughters 2nd Wedding Anniversary on Sunday (and it is also Mother's Day, I really need to do something about that too...). So have finally managed to make her and her hubby an Anniversary Card.

I used Perfect Plum, Rose Red and Pale Plum Cardstock with Whisper White for stamping on. The Heart and the Love image is from Love You Much Stamp Set. The heart was punched out using the new Big Heart Punch, it was smaller than the image so gave a really nice pattern on the heart. The Happy Anniversary sentiment is from the Cheers and Wishes Stamp Set, the ribbon is Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain. Oh yeah, the patterned paper is the To The Nines Speciality Patterned Paper. Think that is all....

I decorated the inside to match the front but this time used the Heart to Heart Punch to get the smaller heart shapes..... I hope they like it.
I will be back tomorrow, hopefully with a Mother's Day Card, and I am also going to put some more packs together to give away, but haven't yet managed to do that....
Have a great evening all, take care xx

Cute Hamster - Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

It is my daughter's birthday next week , it is also my Son In Law's birthday and their anniversary, so 13th Son In Law's Birthday, 14th, their anniversary and 15th Daughter's birthday..... and then my sisters on 24th, so will be pretty busy this week making cards and I also have 2 card classes this week too.... anyway, I thought I would make my daughter's card using the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.
I used a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil, isn't it just the cutest little hamster? I coloured with my copic markers as I have missed using them lately....

I used Stampin' Up! Kaleidescope Patterned Paper, strangely I didn't like these very much when I first saw them, but now I am loving them and could use them all the time, which I often do... ha ha. I also used Taken With Teal and Apricot Appeal, the little Sentiment is from a Saleabration Set which is no longer available and punched out using the Word Window Punch....

I also decorated the inside which I often do, using Taken With Teal Cardstock and Pixie Pink.... the papers are the same, the flowers are from my stash... Hope you like it...
Just an update on the girls bedroom, I have been sticking notes on their door each day with a small job to do each day, so far I have all their dirty washing and am finishing the last lot today, they have clean bedding, there is no dirty crockery and the floor is clear.... today one is clearing off her desk and the other will be sorting out 3 of the blue boxes.... so onwards and upwards, we do get some protesting, but they still seem to do it, so all going well so far...
Have a great evening all, take care xx

Hmmmm, how do people think of good headings....

Have been busy making cards for my monthly card order and wanted to finish them by this weekend which I have done... woohoo, now next week I will concentrate on my next 2 card classes that I am doing which is going to be Men Cards and the 2nd one will be Cupcakes, I think... haven't definately made up my mind yet.

This card was made using Apricot Appeal, Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery Cardstock, the Patterned Paper is Kaleidescope, all from Stampin' Up!, a clear button and Certainly Celery Ribbon, I also used the Photo Corner Punch, the scallops were made using circles and sticking them under the curve. The Sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

And here is the inside, I used Pixie Pink, Apricot Appeal and Whisper White Cardstock, the Scallop Border Punch and the Five Petal Flower Punch.... Hope it gives you some inspiration...
Next week look out for something special on my blog every day, I am not going to tell you what yet... and I have a great tutorial for you for Why Not Make It Wednesday, so dont forget to check back then.
I would love to see some of your entries for my Colour Challenge #3 too.... dont forget to enter this fortnight.

More Thank You Cards....

After making that gorgeous Scrapbook at Monica and Bekka's Training Day in Peterborough, I still had quite a bit of the Sunny Day Scrappin' Kit left (well actually we only got half the kit each but there is still tons left, you definately get your money's worth with these kits).... I am determined to use it up, so after using some on a couple of thank you cards the other week, I decided to make another 10....

I did run out of cardstock so just used the matching cardstock that I had that matched the kit.... this is Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Pixie Pink and Old Olive, but I did also add some Kraft Cardstock just coz I like it....

The ribbon didn't come in the kit either, but you can get Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise in the narrow grosgrain and Old Olive in the wider grosgrain, all which match this gorgeous set...

There were plenty of stickers and patterned paper left to make these cards...

and a tip I found this weekend is when you send cards to someone, like this thank you card, write your message on a Post It Note and stick it inside, that means that the recipient can also forward the card on, so an extra little thank you gift for them.....

I did stamp the "Thank You" sentiment, this is in the Ovals All set and punches out nicely using the Scallop Punch...

I stamped the cardstock on the tall cards using the little leaf/tree stamp from the Saleabration Set Good Neighbours.... I just love this set....

and I also punched out little circles to add even more colour to the cards and stuck them on... here I have used the Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon...

These cards didn't take long to make either, probably around 30 minutes and that was because I used the Scallop Border Punch to punch along a lot of the cardstock I used.....

I have already used one of these cards already, but still have 9 left to use... I tend to use tons of thank you cards so will be making some more soon.....

Especially as I still have a load of the Patterned Paper left....

And can you believe, just before the training day I ordered my own Sunny Day Scrappin' Set, so once I finish this one up I have a whole new set to play with.... cannot wait as I want to use some of the stickers with the On Board Chipboard I won at Training Day....
Hope these cards might inspire you to use up some scraps you have laying around, I am really bad at using up scraps which is why I have set the goal of using this set up before starting my new set.... and the colours are so lovely and bright they are really great for the grey days we have had recently.... add a bit of colour to your life....
Just to let you all know, my card classes are full for this week but there are still a few spaces left for next week.... so if you are in the area and want to make some beautiful cards using A Rose is A Rose stamp set, then drop us an email at LindaLloyd@gmx.net...
Right off to make something now, the morning started badly with a dead battery on my car which is now on charge, then it has took me forever to blog, so really need to do something constructive.
Have a great day all xx

A Little Thank You Card.

I really need to make myself some little thank you cards as I seem to need them on lots of occasions and have to make them at the time, the ideal would be to have a box of cards all ready for any occasion... maybe this will be my plan for the week...

Here is a little thank you card I made quickly, in fact I made 2 of them as I needed them for some ladies who placed Stampin' Up! orders with me... aren't these colours lovely and bright, think everyone needs a bit of cheering up with the grey days we have been having recently.

Have been really busy today planning next months Card Classes, the cards I have made are lush, even if I do say so myself, just one 3d item to make and it will be complete, so after my little boy's assembly tomorrow I will be finishing the class.

I had some excellent news yesterday, I received an email from a local shop telling me I had won their Christmas Draw which was £100 of vouchers to spend in their clothes shop... woohoo, went in today to collect the vouchers and to check that it was really true and not someone having a laugh with me and it was.... I could probably have spent the vouchers there and then, luckily my ticket was running out in the car park and I had to get back to the car... want to take my time picking what I want, they last a year so dont have to buy everything now...... (says she who hates waiting for anything).... lol

Have a great evening all, will be back tomorrow, dont forget to take part in my fortnightly colour challenge, the link is on the left hand side column, just click on it and it will take you to the post. There will be a small prize for the winner.

Take care xx

Stampin' Up! Saturday....

Wow, what a great day I had on Saturday... DH, 3 sons and myself travelled to Peterborough solely for me to meet my upline and some other wonderful people for some Stampin' Up! training... we also got to make 4 Make and Takes and played some silly games, had a wonderful lunch put together by the WI and swapped some swaps that we made.

This first card is from Saleabration set Happy Moments and is coloured in using Blender Pens and Ink Pads. I have always found this tricky so probably haven't practised enough, but am now getting the hang of it, so watch out for some more of these kind of cards soon. I love the punch too, dont use that often enough either... all in all a nice easy and quick to make card for those moments when you need to get something together quickly. The embossing on the top of the card is done by punching out some 1/4" circles and just sticking them on... how cool is that!!

This is a cool little box which I have put a Galaxy Hot Chocolate into, the hole is made using the Oval Punch and is just the right size for this sachet of hot chocolate, and with the weather being so cold is a great treat for a little someone to keep them nice and warm and show them you care... very easy to make, I will definitely be making more of these. The sentiment and frame are both Saleabration Sets... if you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! before the end of February you can choose a Stamp Set for free.... and you wont be able to buy these ever from Stampin' Up! so you had better get in quick if you want one. Email me at LindaLloyd@gmx.net for more details on how you can get your hands on a free stamp set.

This is a super wonderful Scrapbook using the Sunny Day Scrappin' Kit. It is so easy to make and can be made in a couple of hours easily, plus it only uses one half of the kit, leaving plenty more to make some cards... I think that is what I will be doing with my left over kit... I will be doing a workshop making one of these albums soon, so watch this space or email me for more details.

This is a very cute card using some wonderful colours, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and More Mustard and stamped with the new Saleabration Set Good Neighbours. I must admit this is my favourite of the Saleabration Sets and I love these little clips too at the top of the insert.... you can buy these from the Stampin' Up! catalogue; if you would like a catalogue they retail for £4.95, but you can buy one from me for £2.50 plus £1 postage, or free if you spend £45 in the catalogue.

Now a lot of people made swaps so that we could all get a good collection of cards and other 3D goodies using a selection of the Saleabration Sets... my contribution was a giraffe punch card. The giraffe is made using Stampin' Up! punches, he has a Tempting Turquoise bow and the sentiment is from the Whimsical Words Saleabration Set... again you can get this set free if you spend £45 in the current Stampin' Up! catalogue, and I will enclose one of these cards if you place an order with me before 28th February and you are a new customer. Just click on the box above to take you to the full video tutorial and a picture of this card.

I hope you enjoyed looking at these items.... we also watched demonstrations from Jo Press and Jo Bee and I am definitely going to try out some of the cards they made, very inspirational and such wonderful ideas.... so keep watching this space.

I just want to thank Monica, Bekka and Jules for their wonderful talks and a big thank you for the Big Raffle Prize that little ole me won.... I never ever ever win raffles and hadn't even unrolled my line of numbers.... I am looking forward to the next get together in April....

Take care all xx

A Really Good Day.....

Today was my first Card Workshop.... one wonderful lady turned up and we had an awesome time making some Christmas Cards and a box to match. It was really nice talking to you Denise and hope we meet again sometime soon.

Chris from Stampin' Up! rang me halfway through my class to tell me I had a new downline (I did already know this and a big welcome to my team Caroline), and that because of this I have been promoted in the world of Stampin' Up! to Silver 2, this means I get another pin to match my other 3 and £150 to spend in the catalogue.... woohoo, so after Christmas not only do I get to spend my £150, I also get to earn free Saleabration Stamp Sets, so I think Christmas will be coming slightly late to me this year (or is it very early next year... lol). Have had a quick flick through the catalogue but cannot decide on what I want, so will leave it a while.

Dont forget, if you give you send me your wish list for Christmas this year and point your loved ones, family, friends etc in my direction, not only will you get the stash you wished for for Christmas, you also get freebies too which I will wrap nicely and add to your gifts, plus there will also be a small gift from me for your kind gift givers...

Anyway, I have made some cards, I am desperately trying to get my pile of Christmas Cards finished before the weekend, but failing badly, I have now made around 30, but still have at least another 20 to make and I am intending on doing something with acetate for some of them, but am still throwing some ideas around my head at the minute and not coming up with anything.... but tomorrow is another day. I have decided to list the stash used on my cards in a more orderly fashion.
Recipe: Papers - Papertrey: Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery, Real Red, Whisper White and The PaperMill Shop. Tools - Spellbinders Snowflakes Nesties, Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. Bling - button and gems from stash. Ribbon - Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery and Silver Cord.

This card above is my favourite so far, I cut the letters out using my Cricut Expression and the snowflake too. I punched snowflakes out of the backing glitter card and then stuck it onto the Night of Navy card underneath using Dimensionals so that the holes were more obvious, they really are in real life... lol
Recipe: Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Night of Navy, Glitter Card from stash. Patterned Paper - My Minds Eye. Bling - button from stash. Ribbon - Stampin' Up! Gold Cord.
That's it for now, off to cook tea.... and is this rain ever going to stop?
Take care all xx

Terrific Tuesday....

Sorry I didn't get back over the weekend, I did some Christmas Shopping (online of course... lol), we have even booked a pantomime for Christmas Eve, so looking forward to it, we are seeing Beauty and The Beast, I haven't seen that one before, and not all the children have seen the Disney version, so I think I will be hunting down some books, I remember when I was young I had the Beauty and The Beast Ladybird book, it was one of my favourite stories... Terrific Tuesday? not really sure why, have just put out some more leaflets for my Card Classes, so looking forward to that next week, getting to meet new people who share in my love of card making... so more exciting things happening... also on Saturday I am off to a fellow crafter's Make And Take day and will meet loads of new people who I have seen online but never spoken to, so more exciting times..... so I am very excited today, so decided to name my post Terrific Tuesday.
So, here are a few cards I have made, I know the paper is Basic Grey, and so are the buttons, the sentiment is Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations, and the thread wound around the panel is also from Stampin' Up!

More Basic Grey papers, Pumpkin Pie Cardstock from Stampin' Up!, the sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Er.... ha ha, forgotten who made this paper, I think it is Scenic Route, the flowers are from my stash... the cardstock is Stampin' Up! Pink Passion, I always seem to use some Stampin' Up! on my cards somewhere, I guess its because with more than 48 colours of cardstock you are always likely to find something that matches your papers.
Have a great day all, hope to be back later with another card, a birth card as my sister gave birth to a little girl on Sunday, she already has 2 boys so a girl is a bit of a novelty... after a blood transfusion and a trip to theatre she is now fine and recovering at home..
Take care all xx
