Card Class.....

I thought I would show you what we did at my Card Class this month... the ladies all decided last month that they would like to make a masculine card set this month after seeing my card...

But I thought that maybe the flowers were a bit feminine, so I designed a whole new set to make, and I think they all went down really well, everyone seemed pleased and no one found them too difficult.... Here is a photo of the whole set together....

We even made a little Treat Box, I learnt to do this at a day Monica held in Peterborough, I changed the colour etc, but it was not my template.

The colours I used for this was Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard and Always Artichoke... and a small circle of Really Rust.... the Feather image is from the Nature's Nest Stamp Set and the little leaf is from the Autumn Days Stamp Set... the patterned paper is To The Nine's Speciality Paper... the chocolate bar is now all mine.... he he he

This card used Spiced Cider Patterned Paper, Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard Cardstock and the ribbon is Always Artichoke 1/4" Grosgrain. Stamp Set as above... I used the pricking mat and template to make the holes in the cardstock...

Again for this card I used More Mustard and Elegant Eggplant, the patterned paper is To The Nines and the ribbon is 1/4" Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain.

This last card is an easel card, the patterned paper is from the Perfect Plum Patterned Paper set and everything else is as above....
My little grandson who is 23 weeks old was admitted to hospital again last night, this time the doctor seemed positive that he wouldn't be going home until they found out what was wrong, this included having a gastric team on standby at the Royal London Hospital... they observed him last night, did even more blood tests and today decided that maybe he is allergic to dairy products.... er hello, we said this to them 3 months ago.... anyway this meant that I got to have my 22 month old grandson yesterday evening.... what a shame!! ha ha So small grandson is now home, he has kept his last 3 bottles down apart from the normal baby sick and we have our fingers crossed that this is the problem and finally he will start to put on weight.... the doctors have said he will never be able to have dairy products and the baby milk they have given him is only available on prescription, but hopefully for now everything will be fine... thank you everyone who has asked about him.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and Mums that you have a really great Mother's Day.... (ooops still need to make my mum a card...) Take care all xx

Stamp Set for Haiti

Please Scroll Down For Newer Posts.....

Thought I would let you know that Stampin' Up! are supporting the Red Cross for helping out Haiti after their devestating earthquake. Stampin' Up! US packed boxes of much needed stuff and shipped it out to Haiti very shortly after the earthquake, and are now donating money from the sales of certain Stamp Sets. In the UK the Stamp Set is Greenhouse Garden and here are my efforts using this Stamp Set.

This is a little tag I made using More Mustard, chocolate Chip, Whisper White and the Speciality Designer Paper To The Nines...

And here is the card I made, again using More Mustard, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke, the little leaves you can see come from the Saleabration Set Good Neighbours.

And here they are both together, would make a lovely card with matching card, maybe for Mother's Day...

and as is the norm this week I have decorated the inside of the card to match the front....
So if you would like to buy this set it is £22.95 and Stampin' Up! are donating £1 for every set sold.... for every 4 sets I sell until the end of February I will raffle off 2 Saleabration Sets which means you have a 50% chance of winning a set of your choice.... everytime I sell 4 sets I will put the 4 names into a hat and pick out 2 of them.... the 2 people can then pick a Saleabration set... and on top of that I will also donate an additional £1 to the Red Cross Fund for Haiti.... can't be bad.... Just contact me on LindaLloyd@gmx.net for more information.
Have a great evening all, take care xx

February Card Classes

I thought I would post some piccies of my February Card Classes. Not sure that anyone who comes actually visits my blog. In reality I would have had a Valentine's Class with Love You Much, but no one who was coming actually wanted the valentines class and I had a request for this stamp set, so thought I would do Valentiney colours using this stamp set and there is Monica's little treat pouch incase they want to give something to that special someone. DH is working from home this week and has just watched me making and photographing this treat pouch so I guess giving it to him for Valentines is out of the question... (he also reads my blog posts so I will know he has read it when he laughs later)....

We will be making 3 cards and a treat pouch using the A Rose is a Rose Stamp Set, the Saleabration Happy Moments Stamp Set for the Happy Birthday Sentiment and the sanded large stamp for the background on one of the cards. The colours used are Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Always Artichoke Inkpads, plus the Chocolate Chip inkpad for the sentiments. The Patterned Paper is from the Old Olive and Rose Red Packs.

I also used the leaf/tree stamp from the Good Neighbours Saleabration Stamp Set, I love this little stamp for stamping backgrounds and edging pages. I never noticed before but the Word Window Punch fits nicely across the Scallop Circle Punch.

I used the sentiment from the A Rose is a Rose Stamp Set for the above card, but coloured just the first 2 words in using the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker Pen.

How cute is this little treat pouch filled with mint imperials. Thanks Monica for showing us a tutorial of how to make it.

The background for this card was stamped using the Sanded Stamp Set, I left the stamp image upwards on the desk, inked it up and then put the cardstock over the stamp and rubbed it down well, I ended up with a nice crisp image. The word window is punched out of the layers on this card and the layers are raised up using Stampin' Dimensionals and the Happy Birthday sentiment is below it if you see what I mean so that it really is a window.

Hope you like it, hope my ladies will like it too.... take care everyone and have a great day xx

Long Time No Blog......

I have been so super busy as you all have trying to get stuff finished in time for the big day. I am glad to say I am now on top of it, just have a few things to finish off tomorrow, and fingers crossed my Stampers 10 order will arrive before Christmas and I will be able to send that off too so everyone gets their scrummy stash to use once the big day is over. I am starting a Stampers 6 Club in Jan/Feb so if you would like some great stash to look forward to for the next 6 months, contact me for more information or click on the link above this post. Lots of clubs starting next year with lots of goodies for free too.
I still cannot post some of the things I have made as no one has yet emailed me to say they have received it, so not wanting to ruin the surprise I will just post a few things that I can share with you. These are my Christmas cards that I made for the people in church...
I stamped onto the Stampin' Up! Window Sheets with White Staz On, using the Snowburst Stamp Set (I just love this set, it is so versatile...), I left it to make sure it was really dry and got to making the image. I stamped the image onto Whisper White Cardstock and embossed it with Black Embossing Powder, I then inked around the edges and over a large part of the card using Close to Cocoa and then distressed the edges using the Cutter Kit (great bit of gear... lol). I mounted it onto Always Artichoke and then stuck the Real Red Cardstock inside the card making it look like it is matted under the Always Artichoke so that you cannot see the glue holding the Always Artichoke Cardstock in Place. Using a Martha Stewart Punch I punched the edge of some MME Patterned paper, I made two of these for each card so that I could stick the second one directly onto the other side of the acetate inside so there were no unfinished edges. I then tied the Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon all the way around the front of the card securing with a double knot. I cut more Whisper White Cardstock to stick inside the card to write on placing it directly under the Real Red so that you cannot see it when the card is closed. I then matted that using Always Artichoke again, but sticking the Always Artichoke onto the back of the card, again so that you cannot see the glue. The Poinsetta is a Spellbinders Die and the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch. Unfortunately acetate cards do not photograph well and look much better in real life.
I have lots to tell you so hoping to be back tomorrow with some catch up news and some more of my makes.... have a great (if not snowy) evening everyone...
Take care xx

Finished At Last.....

I finally finished the cards at last..... so tomorrow after watching my little boy in his assembly I will be putting together a Card Class as I am thinking of starting Card Classes... not sure where to advertise them, but will also make some leaflets and go searching on Thursday. So if anyone reading this is interested in attending a Card Class in Maldon Essex on a Thursday morning between 10am and 1pm, drop us an email and let us know. All kit will be provided (for a fee) and all you will need to bring is a basic crafting kit..... you will also get refreshments and possibly some homemade cupcakes.... the theme will be Christmas of course (is there anything else at the moment).... date to be confirmed.

This card was made using Wintergreen Patterned Paper (retired Stampin' Up!) and Papertrey Ribbon, card is from Paper Mill Shop, bling is from my stash and sentiment is from Our Daily Bread stamps, same as yesterday.
And today I have decorated some of the insides as I made the card blanks out of coloured card.

For this card I used Kraft Cardstock from Stampin' Up! and the Wintergreen Patterned Papers again, the ribbon is Kraft Taffeta Ribbon from Stampin' Up! and the corners were cut using a cuttlebug die, the punch is from Martha Stewart and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Again I decorated the inside to match the outside as the card blank was made using the Kraft Cardstock.

This time I made a Criss Cross Card as I haven't made one of these for some time now.... I used retired Stampin' Up! Patterned Paper for this too and Always Artichoke Stamp Pad and Cardstock, I also used Whisper White and Old Olive Cardstock so it would all match. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread and bling is from my stash. The ribbon is Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla Grosgain.

And this is what it looks like once you take the card out of the card. The Stamp Set I used on the white card is a Christmas one, but some of the stamps are suitable for all year round use as proved on this card, it is Season of Joy.

And this is the final card I made, Sentiment is Our Daily Bread, Patterned Paper is Stampin' Up! Retired stash, the little butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch as is the border punch. The flowers are from my stash, the brads are also Stampin' Up!
So that is all for today, will be changing my blog slightly as I want to add some tabs, for techniques, wishlist, tutorials, and somewhere my downline and Stampers 10 Clubs can chat too... I will also be hosting some new swaps, so if you like the stash but dont want to buy a whole packet or reel of ribbon keep looking out..
Have a great evening all xx

The School Play

We went to see my 8 year olds school play last night. He was a rockstar but was a bit unhappy as at the beginning he was set to be a guitarist and then his teacher said he had to be a singer, so he and my next door neighbours little boy hid at the back of the stage so I couldn't get any photographs of them singing. Nevertheless the children all looked like they were having fun... final night is tonight and I expect they will be tired out as they have put on 2 shows yesterday and 2 today, I bet he sleeps well tonight.

Well this card started a while back, but then I broke my cuttlebug and needed to find my big shot in the loft cupboard so that I could carry on cutting out the squares and circles. This card then got thrown into a box, but it is now finished. The colours are Whisper White and Always Artichoke Cardstock, with Always Artichoke ink used on the sentiment, which is from Verve Stamps. The Patterned Paper is Brocade Background which is retired, but still available to buy whilst stocks last. I used the Scallop Edge Punch for the white scalloped edge. And voila finished at last. Tomorrow I need to wrap a book and make a matching card, so watch this space as I have no idea what I am going to do yet, but do intend to use items from the new mini catalogue out on the 1st April.

A Nice Relaxing Weekend....

We had a nice relaxing weekend, nothing too strenuous went on, but only because we had forgotten that the garden needed doing... lol

The weekend started with our meal which was very yummy, in fact very very yummy which we ate alongside a very nice Hardy's Chardonnay, my favourite white wine, the new look bedroom was very relaxing with all the candles lit too, must remember to take some photographs...

Little pug has had her big lampshade collar taken off today and looks much better now, she is now able to eat by herself as there is no collar to get in the way, so look out cats she will be after your food again...

And my card for today is...

Again mainly Stampin Up, I used the Bloomin' With Beauty Stamp Set, the retired Le Jardin Designer Patterned Paper, Pretty In Pink Taffetta Ribbon and the edge was punched using my Fiskars Border Punch. The Sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set and stamped in Always Artichoke Ink. Hope you like it....

Stampin Up are also bringing out a Mini Catalogue which will start on 1st April until 30th September, watch this space for more details....

I will be doing a Paper Share once the Catalogue comes out, you will get 1 6 x 6 sheet of all the Designer Patterned Papers in the current catalogue, plus 1 6 x 6 sheet from the 3 new packs in the mini catalogue, you will also get 1m of each of the 3 new Striped Grosgrain ribbons in So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue. So in summary

102 6x6 sheets of Patterned Paper, from current catalogue, plus the new PP from the Mini Catalogue

1.2" Grosgrain Striped Ribbon in Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron. 1m of each of these = 3m

I need 8 people for one of these groups and this will be dispatched to you in April once the Mini Catalogue comes out. If you are interested please let me know at LindaLloyd@gmx.net

Have a good day all xx

Been Busy...... again..

I am hosting a card swap, and have been busy trying to get my second lot of 10 cards made today, as they are supposed to be with me tomorrow and just because I am hosting the swap and can take advantage as I know there are still a lot of cards that I need to receive, doesn't mean that I shouldn't complete mine on time.... lol But unfortunately I cannot share them with you yet as I know some of the people in the swap read my blog.

But I have made one small card to share with you, which I am really not sure about, and then my daughter came home from school (she is 14) and said I really really love this card.... I was surprised, I showed her the cards I was making for the swap (which I really like) and she said no this small one is much better..... hmmmm so I will show it to you and I guess you will either love it like she does or not like me....

Todays card is made from Stampin' Up!, Real Red, Bashful Blue and Always Artichoke Cardstock, Real Red and Red Gingham Ribbon and Summer Picnic Designer Paper the image is from the Tart Tangy Stamp Set. The sentiment was made using my old fashioned dymo machine.

Have a great evening all, dont forget to take part in my Monday Card Sketch Challenge, just scroll dont a few posts to find it, or click on the link above this post where is says Weekly Challenge.

Take care xx

Time is Running Out....

If you want to enter for my blog candy, all you have to do is enter a card using my Sketch here

Well I have been making some more cards, but only another 3 which means I have six of these card blanks left, so will have to make some more in these colours tomorrow... hope you are not getting too bored of them, but I do love the colours.

These were all made using the same colours as yesterday, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron. The Patterned Paper is Haiku... The front of the card was made using the Stampin' Up! cardstock flowers, the gems were from my stash and the Thanks was from the Thank You Kindly Stamp Set. The scallops were cut using the Scallop Edge Punch...

The front of the card was Stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink using the Bella's Bloom Stamp Set, I then added gems from my stash to the middle of the flowers. I used the Scallop Circle Punch to cut the Scallop Circle and the sentiment is from the Pocket Silhouettes Stamp Set. Same Cardstock and Patterned Paper as before.

Same Cardstock and Patterned Paper as before, the sentiment on the front is from the True Friend Stamp Set and I used my Nestabilities dies to cut out the shapes, the ribbon is Always Artichoke... again the gems are from my stash. The inside was again cut using the nestabilities dies and the Stamped Image is from A Beautiful Thing Stamp Set.
To all the people who are waiting on Stampin' Up! stash, I posted your orders out to you this afternoon, so they are winging their way to you as we speak. To anyone who would like to place an order, please e-mail me at LindaLloyd@gmx.net.
My son was playing in a BasketBall Tournament this afternoon and I need to pick him up from school soon, wonder if they won or not...
Have a great evening everyone, take care xx

Our Card Swap....

A while ago now (well before Christmas anyway), we had a 3 x 3 card swap over at In Love With Stamping, 10 of us made 10 cards each and sent them to the lady organising the swap... she in turn sorted one of each of the 10 different cards and posted them back to us, hence we send in one design but receive 10 of them back.... and here is the card that I made for the swap....

For this I used a card blank of Always Artichoke and layered it with Rose Red Cardstock and So Saffron Patterned Paper. The Scallop Circle was cut from Always Artichoke and then a circle cut from Rose Red. I stamped the image for Carte Postale onto So Saffron Cardstock using Always Artichoke Ink and then cut that out using one of the Stampin' Up! punches too. I finished the middle off with a small pearl from the Pretties Kit. The ribbon is Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon. Voila easy to make 10 of these for the swap. I am now hosting my own swap and have to make another 20 cards for it.... busy busy busy...
Dont forget to enter for my blog candy (yesterdays post), if you already have this Saleabration Set you can pick one of the others for your prize if you win....

Have a great evening all xx

I Haven't Deserted You, Just Been Really Really Busy.... sorry...

Well I cannot believe it has been nearly a week since I last posted, but life has just taken over at the moment.... Last Thursday I went Christmas Shopping For the 3rd Thursday in a row, hopefully only one more next week and that should be everything finished.... Saturday one of my Inkspots And Markers ladies came over with her husband so that we could do some scrapping together, must say I chatted too much and didn't get much done, but here is the card I made..

Sunday my Step Dad's brother died, although they knew it was going to happen, no-one realised it would be so quickly, and just before Christmas too.... how absolutely awful as he has children and grandchildren... I just had to make a card for him, to show how sorry we all are...

For this card I used Kraft, Real Red and Bashful Blue cardstock, plus some of the Bashful Blue Patterned Paper. I used Stamp Sets Lovely as A Tree and Close as A Memory. The tree was embossed using Black Embossing Powder... I tied some of the Linen Thread around 2 Stampin' Up! Black Brads...

I have been desperately trying to get all my Christmas Cards made so that I could write them and send them out so that I can concentrate on other things that need doing, and apart from around 6 I have finished them. I make the ones I give out in Church all the same (don't want any arguments that yours is better than mine.... lol) and I feel pressured to make my own as our Pastor always says "I have been waiting to see what you would make this year"... so these are the ones I have made for Church, they look a bit dull in this photograph, but look much better and sparkly in realy life, the gems in the righthand bottom corner are silver..

I used the So Swirly wheel with an uninked cartridged inked with versamark, ran this over the cards and then embossed using the Silver Embossing Powder. The main part of the card is a Stamp Set called Christ is Born, I stamped the other sentiment from the set on the inside, onto red card and using Silver Ink.

The next card is the special card that I have made for family and best friends, I used the Stamp Set Silent Night for this, I stamped the image, coloured it in with markers and then using Heat and Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds, I went over the top of the whole image to make it nice and sparkly, I used Always Artichoke as the card base and the retired Patterned Paper Dashing, which you can still buy whilst stocks last. And try as I might, even when I used the Stamp A Ma Jig, I could not get the Happy to sit straight, I think I managed it on 1 in 9 cards.... never mind, at least you can tell they are handmade... lol

Tomorrow is another busy day, my little boy is performing in his Christmas Play (he is 6) tomorrow afternoon and of course we all have to go watch him, he is A Cloud and Wind... so should be interesting... hope to get back here as I have something else to show you, but cannot share it today, so watch out for it...

Am about to go off and make 10 cards for a swap I am in, I have an idea, but as usual I am sure it will all change...

Have a good evening everyone, take care xx
