Sorry about Friday's Post

Hi all, I am sorry I didn't post anything Friday, but when I loaded my camera card into my computer I managed to lose all my removeable drives, and despite DH spending 3 hours Friday night trying to fix it nothing happened, and I have only had the computer since just after Christmas, so I was not a happy bunny.... so he looked up PC World's phone number Saturday morning so he could ring them as it has a year's warranty, and I said, why dont you just turn it on and see what happens, and guess what, the drives all came back.... phew, so pleased.

So here is what I was going to upload on Friday. I made a bag and card for a lady in Church as we have bought her a book which she should find useful...

I used Petals and Paisley Patterned Paper, Tempting Turquoise, chocolate Chip and Rose Red Cardstock. The Stamp Set is Polka Dots and Paisley. This is retired but you can still purchase it whilst stocks last. The inks used were Rose Red, Old Olive, So Saffron and Pretty In Pink. I also used the Scallop Edge Punch.
Have a great evening all xx

The School Play

We went to see my 8 year olds school play last night. He was a rockstar but was a bit unhappy as at the beginning he was set to be a guitarist and then his teacher said he had to be a singer, so he and my next door neighbours little boy hid at the back of the stage so I couldn't get any photographs of them singing. Nevertheless the children all looked like they were having fun... final night is tonight and I expect they will be tired out as they have put on 2 shows yesterday and 2 today, I bet he sleeps well tonight.

Well this card started a while back, but then I broke my cuttlebug and needed to find my big shot in the loft cupboard so that I could carry on cutting out the squares and circles. This card then got thrown into a box, but it is now finished. The colours are Whisper White and Always Artichoke Cardstock, with Always Artichoke ink used on the sentiment, which is from Verve Stamps. The Patterned Paper is Brocade Background which is retired, but still available to buy whilst stocks last. I used the Scallop Edge Punch for the white scalloped edge. And voila finished at last. Tomorrow I need to wrap a book and make a matching card, so watch this space as I have no idea what I am going to do yet, but do intend to use items from the new mini catalogue out on the 1st April.

Sooooo Excited....

Although the day didnt start off too well. I was cleaning the bathroom and my 2 little boys were watching the TV just before school (yes I know bad parent, slap wrists), and all of a sudden I heard something fall and they both started screaming at the tops of their voices (so I knew that they were okay) I yelled downstairs and asked what had happened, one of the cats had knocked the crabs aquarium off the top of the vivarium and the gravel, water and crab had gone flying, I ran down the stairs as fast as I could in my slippers yelling at the children to get the cats out of the lounge so they couldn't get the crab, but neither of them would move, I managed to get one of the cats out and shut the door, but the other two were proving more difficult. I was pushing the sofa in all directions and my 8 year old started helping me and eventually we grabbed one cat each and put them out the lounge. Next we needed to catch the crab. We have had this crab at least 3 years and it has got bigger and bigger and bigger, it is now almost the size of a dressed crab that you can buy, so it was no mean feat finding something to catch it in. Eventually I used a massive saucepan and a newspaper and soon had him back in his aquarium. Unfortunately it took a lot longer cleaning up the gravel and smelly water, which had to wait until after I had taken the childen to school, but alls well that ends well and crab is quite happy again in his aquarium and the cats are now permanently shut out of the lounge.

Then hubby rang me at lunch time and told me he had won 2 tickets for U2 in the online auction on ticketmaster. That for the same price we had paid for our other tickets, we now had seats almost next to the stage, now this deal is so special we have to collect the tickets on the night from the box office at Wembley Stadium and hubby has to have the same credit card he bought the tickets with plus photo identification just to get them. We then enter by a special door and get greeted by someone, we then have a special merchandise stall etc that we use instead of the general public one which will probably be very busy. We have been allocated what we imagine are seats as it is row 6 with 2 seat numbers.... how excited am I, may have to buy an extra battery for my camera so I can just snap away...... so much better than when we went to Poland. Just have to sell my other tickets now, which are also great seats, but obviously not as good as these ones are....

But..... you are all waiting to see what card I have made and here it is...

Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock, Fall Flowers (Retired) Designer Paper, this is still available whilst stocks last. Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon and brads and flowers from my stash. I used the Scallop Edge Punch for the scallop white edge. And that's it, I know those colours are quite Christmassy but I didn't think it looked too seasonal....

Have a great evening all xx

Not so nice Monday....

The weather here has been apalling this afternoon, it has winded, it has rained and all at once too and just at the time the children come out of school, funny enough now it is evening, the sun has come out at last. My daughter drove down to Cornwall yesterday and she says the weather is lovely there, infact I saw for myself as she sent me photos, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, but they also have the wind, which was just as well as she was going surfing today.

I had a lovely Mother's Day (well actually I did more work than ever and even cooked my dinner for everyone) and got some lovely presents, 2 CDs that I wanted, the new Tim Hughes, Happy Day and the new Delirious Album which is possibly their last ever. I also got a gorgeous blue toiletry bag full of Dove toiletries, some chocolates and wine, 3 books, 1 of which I asked for and the other 2 were surprises, my 12 year old son bought me a rose and then weeded all the overgrown garden and planted it for me, and my 6 year old made daddy go out and buy me some flowers..... from my son of course... lol I also got some gorgeous flower candles, but they are truly too beautiful to burn, so am going to have to think on that one.... lol because what is the point in having candles if you dont use them...

Today I have been making a bag and card for my Sister's birthday tomorrow, they are totally matching, and I have no idea how she is going to open the bag. It started off as a brown lunch bag, I folded the top over and then put panels on the front and back and joined them at the top, so I am thinking she is going to have to cut it open... lol not my problem. So here they are...

I have been using new stash from the New Mini Catalogue which comes out on 1st April, and the new items are truly scrummy... I used So Saffron and Certainly Celery Cardstock, the new Playful Petals Stamp Set plus the Ovals All Stamp Set along with the Oval Scallop Punch and the Oval Punch, these are proving to be really popular, I have sold 3 sets of these already. The Patterned Paper is called Tea Party and the ribbon is Certainly Celery Grosgrain. On the bag I actually used the stamp from Ovals All, but on the card I used the stamp from Ovals All but only coloured in the flower part with my Stampin Up Marker in So Saffron, then using my Stamp a ma jig I stamped Happy Birthday from the Very Versatile Stamp Set and punched it out using the Oval Punch. How versatile are these sets when you can just mix and match.

I have one place left in my Paper and Ribbon Share, this will be sent to you at the beginning of April sometime as some of the paper and ribbon is from the new Mini Catalogue and I cannot order this until 1st April, but I promise you, the items will be ordered on 1st April, so you dont have long to wait now.

Dont forget the fantastic offer on the Starter Kit, just £125, and if you add just the stash up it comes to £217, so one really big bargain here, and all you have to do after signing up as a demonstrator and receiving this kit is to meet a target every quarter (and guess what, the first quarter doesn't count, you dont have to reach your targets until your second quarter, but you do need to sign up this evening, or tomorrow to get the Starter Kit at this price).

Off to Beavers now, sewn on the badge I need to and I will be staying to help, so need to get dinner ready so that they can just put it in the oven and cook it... have a great evening all xx

Thank God It Is Friday........

This week seems to have taken so long, haven't been able to get motivated for anything really, so luckily it is the weekend and once the housework is out of the way tomorrow, we can enjoy the weather which is supposed to be really nice.

I really need to make a birthday card for my sister whose birthday is on Monday, plus decorate a little bag to put her gift in, money is tight at the moment so only bought her a small gift, but thought if I made a really nice pretty bag, this might make up for it... lol (we only ever buy each other small gifts anyway). Hope you are all looking forward to Mother' Day on Sunday, cant wait to see all my brood, although most of them come for dinner on a Sunday anyway, I wonder if anyone else will offer to cook it this time.... lol

My most exciting news of the day, in fact of the week, DH managed to buy 2 U2 tickets before they sold out this morning, plus they are awesome seats too (they need to be, they cost two arms and 2 legs) and so am so excited and cannot wait until August when we get to see them. The last time we saw them live was in Poland in 2005 and for a while it was touch and go whether we would get out there to see them, but as usual they were awesome, and I was so amazed at how the Polish people couldn't talk english, but could sing all of the U2 songs... and we were told on the minibus on the way to our hotel, that the whole stadium where wearing white and red depending on whether you were sitting or standing to make a great big polish flag, and wow, was Bono impressed with this, he was absolutely blown away, shame the English don't make as much of their concerts as the other countries do....

Anyway, I do still have a card to post, and here it is...

Hmmm cannot remember which colour cardstock I used, whether it was Barely Banana or So Saffron plus Bashful Blue. The set is a Level 2 Hostess Set, Spring bundle and the inks used are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue. The sentiment is from the Seasonal Wishes Stamp Set. I also used the Scallop Edge Punch.

Hope you all have an awesome weekend and make the most of the good weather, take care xx

Mother's Day...

So its nearly time for Mother's Day, the day we can put our feet up and rest.... ha ha, not likely at least not in my house, although everyone does make an effort to do something nice for me, so cant be bad... lol And today I have made my Mum a Mother's Day Card, haven't tackled the problem of what I am going to buy her yet, maybe I will take a photo of all the children left here and buy a frame for it as she is definately lacking in photographs of my children. But then again she is not their Mother... hmm, will have to think that one through.
Anyway, here is todays card...

For this card I used the New Ski Slope Patterned Papers which are in the new Mini Catalogue which you can order from, from 1st April. The cardstock is Old Olive, and the image is also from the new Mini Catalogue and is a set called Soft Summer. The sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings Stamp Set and the flowers are Accents and Elements, oh yes, the ribbon is again from the New Mini Catalogue and is Pink Striped Grosgrain (it also comes in So Saffron and Bashful Blue). And Bashful Blue brads for the flower centres.

Bookcase Tuesday...

Can you tell I have run out of titles for my blog posts... well anyway, today I bought a bookcase and my son came to visit and made it up for me, but looks like Argos have changed their bookcases as it is smaller than the one we currently have and Argos only do 2 now, a deep bookcase or a baby bookcase, so looks like they are just going to have to look odd. They are in our upstairs hall, so not very noticeable, so shouldn't matter too much as long as it does the job it was intended for. Just need to re-arrange all my books now.... (maybe DH will do it later, although he likes to put things in alphabetical order, and I like to sort them by size)....

Tomorrow I will be making a Mother's Day card, so will post that then, but for today, here is my card.

Rose Red, Whisper White and Bravo Burgundy Cardstock. Rose Red Patterned Paper, Whisper White Taffetta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch and Season of Joy Stamp Set for the Swirl, which was stamped in versamark and embossed with Stampin Up White Embossing Powder, and Level 2 Hostess Set, Cause For Celebration. The sentiment was computer generated.

Off to take my son to cubs, have a great evening all xx

Beautiful Monday....

Wow, how is the weather where you are, I think spring is really on its way now, the sun is shining and I have even left my coat at home whilst venturing out, something unheard of for me. I also have a nice glass come vase full of daffodils in my room whilst working, so it really seems spring like to me.

I started a low carb diet last week and managed to lose 2.5lb in a week which is much better than I was doing on the weight watchers one, plus I can eat bacon.... woohoo!! In fact my favourite meal at the moment is a chicken breast sliced, chorizo sausage, half a sliced chilli, about 5 mini plum tomatoes and stir fry it all together and serve with some rocket and mayonnaise... with melted cheese on the top... I could eat it every night except I forgot to get the chicken breast out the freezer today... boohoo, so sausages, bacon and eggs for dinner it will be then. I have found these wonderful chilli sausages that are not too high in carbs, just 5.8g per 2 sausages and they are a nice size too...

I got some new Stampin Up stamps today, but haven't used them yet, I tried to get all the mundane jobs out of the way today so that I can start creating tomorrow. Although I did break open some of my new stamps and ribbon to make DD a birthday card.

So todays card is this....

So Saffron and Chocolate Chip Patterned Paper, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron Cardstock, Chocolate Chip Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the scallop is cut using the Scallop Edge Punch, everything else is from my stash. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps. Must rush, my son should be at Beavers in 10 minutes. Have a great evening all xx

Am Doing Well....

on my diet. I really struggled to lose weight using Weight Watchers, I stuck to my diet rigidly and hardly lost anything and last week I actually put on 1/2 lb, so was very disconcerted. I have now decided to try a low carb diet, not quite Atkins, but I found a book by two ladies Nerys and India on Amazon, have ordered the book plus their cookbook and am hoping they will turn up tomorrow. Meanwhile, I am making sure I dont eat more than 20g of carbs a day, and 12-15 of them are vegetables, so the diet is not as bad as some people think. So far in 3 days I have lost 2 1/2lb, more than I did any week of my WW diet... I am hoping I will continue to lose weight on it as the weeks go by, but we shall see...

Last night was great, I got to baby sit my Grandson who is nearly 10 months old, admittedly, once he went to sleep at 7.45pm he did sleep most of the evening, but eventually woke up around 10.15pm and we played with him until his Mum and Dad picked him up at 11.45pm.. a very enjoyable evening, but as we normally go to bed early, I am suffering from lack of sleep today...

Here is the card I have for you today...

I made it for my daughter to give to her friend who had a little boy last week. The colours used are Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue. The ribbon is Bashful Blue stitched Grosgrain and the Stamp Set used is Wild About You, the sentiment is from Nursery Necessities and this was all Stampin Up stash... yea!!

I was surfing some blogs today and found this tune, I have absolutely loved this song for a long while and just thought I would share it with you...

I am now off to finish my daughter and son in laws anniversary card. Have a great evening all xx

Oh No I Forgot.....

To take a photo of the card I made for my daughter to give to her MIL tomorrow on her 50th birthday, I was so pleased I had finished it that I didn't photograph it, maybe I can get her to bring it back... lol

Anyway, I still have a card to show you. I had 2 wonderful girls decide to become Demonstrators last month and they joined my team. I made them a card each to send with their free stamp sets, plus a little ribbon sampler, which I also didn't photograph. But here is the card...

I used Bashful Blue Cardstock, Summer Picnic Patterned Paper, some felt flowers from the Accents and Elements Set, a Bashful Blue Brad, the image is from the Tart and Tangy Set inked in Real Red and Old Olive. The Welcome sentiment is from an old Hostess Set we had in the last catalogue.... you can only get the Hostess Sets whilst the catalogue is current, once it finishes you can no longer get these wonderful sets. I also used the Tag Punches to cut out the Tag Shapes. Hope you like it...

Have a great evening, take care

Linda

Just Another Manic Monday.....

Hope you all had a brilliant weekend. We went to London on Saturday and took the 3 boys, they love going on the train and we went to the O2.... We went to see the Body World Exhibition, it was excellent, very interesting and the boys loved it even though they are only 6, 8 and 12. It is the exhibition where they have the real human bodies in various forms, ie showing muscles, showing the circulatory system etc, it really wasn't as gruesome as it sounds, and the boys were thrilled and excited by the exhibition, they are now going around telling people, we went and saw dead people....lol After this we went to a really fab restaurant called Las Iguanas, the same one me and hubby went to before we went to see The Killers a couple of weeks ago. They were brilliant with the children and although we ordered their meals from the childrens menus they ended up with portions the same size as us for much reduced prices, and of course hubby had to help them out with some of their food....

My diet is going badly, am hardly losing any weight even though most weeks I stick strictly to my points, and I have even started walking lots and ended up putting on 1/4lb. I have since found out that the contraceptive injection makes you put on tons of weight for no particular reason, so now think I am fighting a losing battle, but not to be beaten yet, I have decided to try and low carb diet, how wonderful to eat bacon and chorizo sausage that I haven't been able to eat for weeks.... have ordered some books on Amazon and waiting for them to arrive, cook books and another book telling how it works, so cant wait for them to arrive, but in the meantime I have found some recipes on the Atkins site, so will start off with them.

The title to this blog post, well I am always running here and there and today was no exception, take daughter and her car to MOT, go and pick them up, an appointment, weekly shop and school runs, so decided to have a day off from making cards, but will be busy busy busy again tomorrow as daughter wants a 50th birthday card for Wednesday.... but you will be pleased to know that I have a few cards in case I dont have time to make any, so will post one of those for you this evening.

I used Tempting Turquoise and Elegant Eggplant Cardstock, plus Sunshine Yellow which I chalked to make it a bit orangey. The Sentiment is from the Occasional Greeting Stamp Set, stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink. The ribbon is Stampin Up White Taffetta.

Thats all for this evening as I have to take my little boy to Beavers... have a great evening, take care xx

Whew, Nearly The Weekend....

Well it seems like it has been a long long week this week, although it has been really nice to have some sun on most days, a pleasant change, even if it has been frosty in the morning. Have done a lot more walking this week in an effort to lose weight and I have only lost 1/4 lb, less than ever, what is going on, and tomorrow we are taking the boys to London and will be eating out and my willpower is virtually nil in these situations, so will have totally blown it for Monday. Plus husband and I have decided to cook another nice meal this Friday, he is cooking main course and he wont tell me what it is, but 2 parcels have turned up this week from Lakeland... should be interesting. I am cooking starter and dessert and he doesn't know what it is, but I guess he will once he looks in the fridge... lol Plus I have bought a nice bottle of white wine, we normally drink Hardy's of some kind but this week I have opted for Jacobs Creek Pinot Grigio or something like that... (DH is the australian one).... lol

Anyway, have been busy today packing up my Stampers 10 orders for my first group, and their parcels are whizzing their way to them at this moment, so hopefully they will get them tomorrow. They also have a little gift from me in their parcels too, hope they like it. Dont forget team, I have posted K Werners Colour Challenge on my Member's Forum and if 5 or more people submit a card for it and post it on my forum I will be giving away a free stamp set to one lucky randomly picked winner, so if you think I am not good at this, it doesn't matter, I wont be judging anyone's skills, just picking a name out of a hat... but, you've got to be in it to win it.

If anyone is thinking of becoming a Stampin Up Demonstrator, please e-mail me (LindaLloyd@gmx.net) for a great offer coming up soon, and all the goodies you can get free. You can sign up as a hobby demo just to get your own Stampin Up Stash at a discount, so contact me with any questions with no obligation to sign up...

And on to todays card...

The cardstock used is Stampin Up Really Rust and Blush Blossom, and the stamp I cannot remember who it is, but the sentiment is from the Stampin Up Set One of A Kind. And that is it for this week, I am now off to start our starters..... have a really great weekend and take care of yourselves... xx

A Great Assembly...

Today I went to watch my 8 year old son in his assembly, every term or so they perform an assembly for the parents so they can see what they have been learning that term. This term he has been learning about Henry VIII. He brought an invitation home on Monday with a drawing of Henry VIII on, and it really did look like him, then today his class acted out a "This Is Your Life" of Henry VIII..... and even his beheaded wives were there... lol It was excellent and they all sang along to Greensleeves twice... awesome.

My mum came back from her holiday in Cyprus yesterday, and popped round today, she brings the children crisps and biscuits each week as a treat and today was no exception. She was in Cyprus for 3 weeks, but she didn't enjoy it very much, she did go 20 years ago and she loved it, but she says she wouldn't go back again, it was very expensive, they couldn't afford to eat out, plus the buses stopped running about 6.30pm, so they would also have had to get a cab back to the hotel. Out of the 21 days only 5 were sunny, the rest it either rained, thundered or lightening... what a shame when you spend so much money on a holiday and it doesn't turn out how you hoped...

Have today downloaded (legally) U2s new album and they will be announcing their tour on 9th March so not long to go now.... we last went to see them in Poland in July 2005, what an awesome time we had, and it is amazing how all these Polish people know the words to all their songs, I do wonder if they know what they are singing about, especially when they sang Yahweh!! Must admit their album is a bit slower than normal, their latest single is the most upbeat song, followed closely by Magnificent, but the others are much slower, cant see how they are going to rock stadiums with these.....

Anyway, on to the card I have for you today....

I have used Live Your Dream Stamp Set, the sentiment is computer generated. I used Very Vanilla Ribbon and Cardstock along with Night of Navy Cardstock. The image was stamped with Night of Navy, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie inks. The border was cut using my Fiskars Border Punch.

Have a great evening all xx

I have actually been productive, woohoo!!!

I am also offering until 9th March a FREE stamp set of your choice from the current catalogue plus the 4 Saleabration Stamp Sets also FREE, plus if you sign up now, you get to pre-order all the new goodies in the new mini catalogue at a humungous discount... contact me for more details. After the 9th of March I will still be offering the 4 Saleabration Sets, but unfortunately no freebie Stamp Sets from the Catalogue.

So you want to see what I have made today?? Here goes....

For this card I used Rose Red Cardstock, the retired Petal and Paisley Designer Patterned Paper, and the Bloomin' With Beauty Stamp Set, I also used the Scallop Edge Punch and I pierced the corners of the image...

Off to take my little boy to cubs now.... have a good evening all xx

A Nice Relaxing Weekend....

We had a nice relaxing weekend, nothing too strenuous went on, but only because we had forgotten that the garden needed doing... lol

The weekend started with our meal which was very yummy, in fact very very yummy which we ate alongside a very nice Hardy's Chardonnay, my favourite white wine, the new look bedroom was very relaxing with all the candles lit too, must remember to take some photographs...

Little pug has had her big lampshade collar taken off today and looks much better now, she is now able to eat by herself as there is no collar to get in the way, so look out cats she will be after your food again...

And my card for today is...

Again mainly Stampin Up, I used the Bloomin' With Beauty Stamp Set, the retired Le Jardin Designer Patterned Paper, Pretty In Pink Taffetta Ribbon and the edge was punched using my Fiskars Border Punch. The Sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set and stamped in Always Artichoke Ink. Hope you like it....

Stampin Up are also bringing out a Mini Catalogue which will start on 1st April until 30th September, watch this space for more details....

So in summary

Have a good day all xx
